    Description

I have 7 hectares of pomegranates, cultivated using a unique, cutting edge trelissing system. The orchard is located in a beautiful desert location in the Ramat Negev highlands, surrounded by a sand dune nature reserve. This is a new farm, giving the volunteers an opportunity to take part in a pioneering experience. I am also participating with various eco-projects in the community and we have recently building a straw bale house with clay and mud on the farm. In various times of the year we work with the new fruits that just born, maintenance of the field, harvesting the fruits, and designing the trees. Themain harvest, and the designing of the trees are twi of the most challenging things we do during the year and we need motivated people to help us..

it requires serious people who are able to stay with us for a while and learn one of most important tasks in raising pomegranate.

We are very fortunate to have had the most wonderfull people here creating an amazing Atmosphere. ..

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Volunteers who come to this region of the country will see a different side of of Israel outside of the busy city life. Being on the farm you will have a chance to learn a variety of different skills ranging from learning how to build with mud bricks, to the maintenance and care of the pomegranate trees, to harvesting, and the designing, among a variety of other tasks that may arise. The skills learned and projects being helped with will vary depending on what time you come to the farm, and we are always eager to host those who have a desire to learn.

    Help

we need volunteers that are willing to learn new amazing skills. In october we start the big harvest of the year...
The volunteers will participate in all aspects of the pommegranate cultivation- pruning, trellising, harvesting, weeding,
etc. They will also take part in several construction projects such as building homes with earth, wood and straw, and improving the volunteers' home.

After hours you can take a hike in the desert, go to the nearby Thai market (small store with mostly imported Thai goods) where necessary things can be purchased or go visit some of the neighbouring farms which also has volunteers year round and have dinner together, play music, or you can just enjoy the amazing beauty of the Negev Desert.

Many volunteers have mentioned that the sand dunes are an ideal location for Yoga and meditation practice...

We serve vegetarian meals 3 times per day, if meat is necessary it can be purchased at the nearby Thai market.

We would ask if volunteers could commit at least 3 weeks minimum, and long term workers are very welcome...

Currently we will need 4 - 6 volunteers currently for preparing for the harvest, and starting the early harvest, and making pomegranate juice. We are also doing various building projects, working with mud, and mud bricks, and other various materials. We are working on the touristic portion of the farm. If you have any questions about what is going on, please feel free to ask, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
