It was great to meet Emma and we enjoyed having her and Lucie here. From the first day they arrived they prepared food for my mum and I - lovely delicious vegetarian food. I spent two weeks with Anjo and Agnes in Gortahork.
Thank you for the great time !
I helped with painting and a little bit in the garden.
I lived in a flat next to the house and it was really cosy so that I felt comfortable.
Anjo and Agnes are easy going and very warm hearted people .
I think it is hard to meet people who are as hospital and

We had really good conversations and I could ask for everything I needed.
They are really tidy and organized and I had time to explore the local area.
I really enjoyed my time and I highly recommend this host.

In April I spent two weeks with Anjo and Agnes and had a really great time!!
We did mostly painting, which was very relaxing and meditative. I also did some wood chopping (with a machine, not an axe), which was surprisingly much fun ;) Sometimes my friend and me cooked for Anjo and Agnes and we would spent a lovely time chatting away... they

Gortahork is truly beautiful, the sea, the hills and all the cute lambs are worth doing long walks.
Even though it is not a big town I wasn’t bored and there are two beautiful towns not to far away and they would give us a lift.
I enjoyed my stay very much, it felt more like a holiday than work and I left very well rested and balanced.
Thank you so much!
May we meet again,

My first experience in workaway was this summer with Agnes and family. They was very, very hospitable and was very friendly with me. I lived in Gortahork 2 weeks and I learned a lot of things, not only to take care of a garden, but I learned that life goes beyond what we know.

Only now after a year since my stay I noticed I must have forgotten to write a feedback! So here it is. I have only positives memories from my stay. It was just so nice. The work was not very difficult (rather relaxing I would actually say) and I did not have to work too long either. The family was very welcoming and I felt comfortable with them

We were so lucky to meet Klara and have her do Workaway with us. From the first day of being here she was willing to work on any jobs that were asked of her. She approached each job with a desire to complete it as you wished and often checked that she was doing the right thing. She was able to take instruction well and would often become an expert

She speaks perfect English and told us many things about her country and about her life. She is a kind hearted and generous person. She has a great sense of humor and we had many laughs together. She has great patience and considerate of others.
My only wish is she could have stayed longer and that we could have explored more places in our area.
I would welcome her back again anytime to do Workaway and cannot recommend her highly enough to any other hosts.

well... I spent 3 weeks with this family in that amazing place: mountains, see, islands, bog. A perfect mix called Donegal county! I worked in the morning and gone out in the afternoon when the weather was nice, Annjo borrowed me her green bike (advice for next workawayers: grasp the good weather when there is)
Anyway, they made me fell like at

I have to say thank you to them for their time and for showing me the beauty of their land. I miss the walk through the bog all together and miss their friendliness!
I hope to see soon them again!
all the best!

Oh what a beautiful time we had with our stay at Agnes' place! We stayed with her and Annjo for a total length of three weeks and we wish we could've stayed longer.
Agnes is so unbelievably and genuinely kind it's just really hard to describe. Same goes for Annjo who practically runs the place by giving you all the tasks. And of course not to
… read more forget the other members of the family who stop by occasionally.
It didn't take long for us to feel comfortable since they try really hard to assure that everything is okay for us and they even take give you some trips if they have the time (to the beach, the national park and so on) just so you get to know the area better!
The work here was relatively easy in comparison to what we had to do at other places: splitting wood, feeding the sheep, weeding the garden, planting a few plants, helping with cutting down a tree (moving the branches and timber), burning the resulting piles of wood, some painting and sanding, cleaning... you see it isn't really difficult or physically exhausting work. Work started at around 10 AM.
If as in our case you get to live in the flat (since we are travelling as two good friends), you'll be definitely lucky - it was the best accommodation we've had yet! Kitchen, open fireplace, two bedrooms, a reading room and a lot of privacy, if that's what you're looking for. The only problem here is the really low water pressure in the shower caused by how the flat is built. And the WiFi was a tad weak for us, not receiving a signal in our bedrooms. (maybe a Workawayer can fix the WiFi-repeater? ;) )
Donegal is a beautiful area to explore. If you're into hiking and taking walks this is THE place for you. So many times we just had to stop our walks and take a look at the stunning scenery - there's even a local group that meet up every Sunday to go hiking; just look up "Social Hikers" on Facebook.
If you're more into getting around especially with local people, there are two pubs nearby, one 10min walk the other 20min walk, and of course a lot of other activities, especially around summer time! By the way this is a Gaelic area, so if you're interested in that there are even courses in the summer.
This won't be our last trip to Ireland and I hope we'll get a second chance to meet each other again on our next journey! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Dear Agnes,
I needed far too much time to write this review. It is just so difficult to find the right words. I don´t know any word in German, English or Irish, which could describe how much I enjoyed the time with you and your family. So I don´t even try to do this and just say thank you very much for everything epically for showing me the

It was my first workaway experience and to say it with one word, it was grand!
I just spent a week with Agnes and Annjo and it felt like home to me. I already miss the people there and it was not easy for me to leave them. I laughed so much and I will definitely come back and visit them. It was a really great time and I enjoyed every single
