    Description

Accessible only by boat, we sit in the heart of the Isla Bastimentos rainforest on a 55 acre property stretching from the mangrove shores of the Bahia Honda Bay, through tropical forest and groves of fruit trees, to the highest point on Isla Bastimentos, allowing for breathtaking views of the jungle and bay. Lush, nectar-rich gardens attract a wide variety of unique wildlife.

The land borders the spectacular National Marine Park, and idyllic white sand beaches are just a short boat journey away.

Our place has grown out of a dedication to exploring, sustaining, and celebrating all that is unique to this area. We are passionate about sharing its beauty and natural luxury while protecting its precious environment and the lives of its inhabitants.

    Help

We're looking for adventurous, sociable, and conscientious people to join the family here. The main expectation for the work exchange is guest interaction. Due to the remote location, we need help creating a social atmosphere for the guests. Helping out with check-ins, serving of some meals and drinks, and socializing with guests. Our lodge has garnered a great reputation over the last decade, our standards are high and exemplary customer service is a must.

In addition, we love people with any additional specialized skills that can help us out.
    - Artists: specifically for signs throughout the property but also other projects
    - Yoga Teacher: we currently bring in an outside teacher, but there is potential for group or private classes
    - Permaculture/Gardening: we can always use help improving the farm
    - Weekly English language program with the kids in the local village. Spanish is required for this.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You'll have a beautiful but rustic jungle home in a two bedroom cabin with shared bathroom and a kitchen with a refrigerator. One of the room has a double bed (priority given to couples) and the other room has two single beds. Please note that we are totally off the grid. Living here is not for the nature phobic - there are all kinds of bugs and critters, sometimes irritating but not deadly (no vipers!)

You will be responsible for cooking your own food most of the time but the cost will be covered and you can use products from the farm. There will be the opportunity to eat at our hotel kitchen while working.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Bastimentos is a stunning island in the Bocas Del Toro archipelago. Our farm can only be accessed by boat and you'll be able to enjoy living in a relatively remote and peaceful environment. You'll be immersed in nature, forge friendships with our local friends and neighbours and spend time with the diverse and interesting guests that stay with us at the lodge.

You'll have a great many opportunities to explore the awesome forest and, when possible, will be able to hop on trips to the nearby beautiful beaches. There's great kayaking in our bay. You'll also be able to catch a ride into Bocas town (Isla Colon) when our boat makes the journey.
