Description
Hey there, we're a family of four, living on a small homestead. It is a very big house, with two apartment parties - where there is always something to do.
We are planning to create our homestead after permacultural standards and will learn to self cater us and our family - so for this - we need some help.
We are Lisa (35) and Bernhard (35) and we have two awakned boys (5 and 2 years) and 1 proud rooster, 3 lovely outdoor cats 4 baby chicken and 12 diligent adult chicken. We are planning to add more animals to our family - the next project will be creating a safe stable for running ducks (next spring time).
We love to spend our free and family time in the nature/garden/wood around our homestead and in the beautiful Salzkammergut (-mountains) and on Lake Attersee on our small sailboat.
In Spring there are a lot of chores to do in the forrest, with the fire wood and in the vegetable garden and with our animals. In Summer it is a little bit more quiet so we have time to spend the hot days at our sailing boat on the Attersee or went cycling or hiking with our kids. In autumn hopley there is a rich vegetable and fruit harvest, here we want to make the harvest durable for the winter season.
Winter is the time to plan for the next year and do a lot of things in and around the house and in the forrest and have fun in the snow with a lot of possibilities for wintersport.
We try to incorporate our children as often as possible and as often they are motivated in our daily work around the house and homestead. So to be patient, (child)friendly and understandig when something doesn't work as planned or need a longer time is very important for us!Types of help and learning opportunities

Lisa is the chef of the garden and the kitchen. I like to cook - so i can learn you how to make "Kaiserschmarrn, Strudel or Knödel". In Summer and Autumm we make the harvest durable for the winter. I know a lot of things about our beautiful nature - especially wildherbs are my favourites.
Bernhard is the chef of the house and the wood. He is a really good homeworker and we made a lot of DIY projects. We have a big and fully equiped carpentry.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We have a very big house, two young children, a flock of chicken, a big vegetable and fruit garden and a forrest for firewood , so there are a lot of tasks, which has to be done everyday or every year.
Tasks with had to be done maily are caring for animals, garden plants, house, forrest (feeding, watering, cooking, weeding, playing, heating, cleaning, harvesting, building,...).
Please give us a hand for that things, that everyone feels comfortable at our homestead.
We also want to make our homestead bigger and time by time add some new
things to our garden and homestead, so here help in the garden and around the house is required.
Every human is different, so lets talk about the tasks and projects you are interested in.
Normally we have a checklist for you, than you can work independent.
Help is required for 15h a week, but you can also help for 25h. With 15h we are just responsible for accomodation. With 25h we are responsible for full catering. We decided to make a mix, so on "required working days" we are together responsible for the meals. Normally breakfast everybody prepare and eat by theirselfs, (there is a big storage in the apartment downstairs and you can let me know what you need) also with dinner you have to be flexible with us, because here we look, that the children get something to eat before they get too tired. But i think we will find a way that fits everybody! And we eat everything!Languages

We can provide you a shared apartment in our big house. We live at the first floor and you and your familiy/partner/friends etc. can stay at the ground floor with a fully equiped kitchen with a table for 6 persons, a small eating/living room with a bench and a big table for 8 persons+, an extra toilet and bathroom with a shower, a bath tube and separated washing maschine. As a single traveller you will stay in our small TV room next to the kitchen with a comfortable couch to sleep. As a couple you will stay in our dobble bedroom and as a group you'll stay in our big living room where there is enough space to add some stackable beds. There is also a second small single bedroom/storage room in this apartment which are given to our Au Pair from Kenya. We also sometimes rent the double bedroom and the big living room via bnb. We renovated the kitchen and the double bedroom. The bathroom and the other rooms were equiped with older furniture, but we try to keep them clean and orderly. Mabye there can sleep and life up to eigth pepole at our ground apartment.
You have to share the apartment with our Au Pair, who stays in the single bedroom and sometimes with our guests, so its really important that you are able to keep the kitchen, toilet and bathroom clean and orderly!
You are not responsible to help cleaning the bnb-guests rooms, but you are responsible to clean up after you and help with keeping our house clean and orderly.
It's also important to save water, because of our own water well - you will find tips for saving water in the bathroom.
We have two small children. They wake up early and we need to become ready for Kindergarten and work. So breakfast isn't possible to eat together. For lunch and in the evening there is sometimes time to cook together and learn to cook and taste other meals. It depends a little bit on if the children have a good or bad day. It's important for us to keep their privacy and listen to their needs.
With eating you have to be very flexible with us, because when the children are hungry of course we give them food. Every day is different. - Lets talk and see what everybody needs. What else ...
Our homestead is located between the Attersee and Traunsee. At the "gate to the Salzkammergut". This region is known for the beautiful mountains and lakes. Also famous places like Hallstatt or Salzburg are close.
You can reach a bus station (Rutzenmoos Hinterbuch B145) maybe in 1,2km. Very hour there are buses to Gmunden or Vöcklabruck. Here you can change to train.
On the same way to the bus station there is a gas station, were you can buy around the clock grocerys.
Sometimes its possible to share our bikes with you - so you can reach the beautiful places in a shorter time.
We're sure that everybody will find a occupation in our beautiful region. From A(ttersee) to Z(oo) everything is possible. Just talk to us we can give you insider tipps. If you are interested in hiking - Lisa nearly climbed every mountain in the Salzkammergut :-).A little more information
