Description
I am a Canadian living in Nicaragua. I used to run a small touristic farm in Nova Scotia. I am starting over and building one here in Nicaragua. My hope is to live as sustainably as possible, growing my own food and reducing waste. I am pretty easy going but get things done! I love riding my horse, hanging with friends and have reluctantly finally taken up surfing. I speak French, english and am working on my spanish. I used to host workawayers in my farm and Canada and loved the cultural exchange & chance to meet different people. Looking forward to it again!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Nicaragua is a wonderful country and there are tons to experience in the area. Mostly tourists come for surfing but there are lots of other activities to do! The farm is about 5-8 minutes from the beach (I recommend you have some sort of mode of transportation) in a more private area.
Help
Starting up up a little farm in Nicaragua & an extra pair of hands is always useful. Tasks are flexible depending on what you would like to do. So far, the farm has dogs, kittens, 6 horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits and more to come! The farm is also growing its garden and the hope is eventually provide the household with lots of greens and veggies.

Separated space in a big rancho with queen bed. You would be in the big rancho by yourself and have access to the small kitchen on the ground floor to make your meals. Both the bathroom and shower is outside and very basic. The rancho also comes with a lovely natural pool :-) Internet is good and never goes out as the farm is entirely on solar. You will be expected to keep your space clean and cook your own meals. Food is not included but you are welcome to goodies from the farm! Highly recommended to try to acquire your own means of transportation (moto or bicycle) as the farm is 2km from the beach.
What else ...
You'll have lots of time off to go explore the area. The area is growing and theres a great community around. You'll be welcome to join on some of my adventures (horse riding, surfing, swimming, hanging out, etc.). It would be good if you had your own transport as its a decent walk to the beach, but if not, we can work around it (I can offer rides).

I enjoyed a good relationship with the other workers on the farm - which made my stay quite pleasant - and the accommodation in the little cabin was lovely.
