    Description

We are a family of six.
Gerard works as a forest fire officer here in Eskdale and Melanie is a midwife working in a hospital. Melanie works different shifts throughout the week. Gerard mainly works Monday-Friday 8:00-17:00, but does on-call work, and needs to be available to respond if there is a forest fire.

We have four children. Our eldest boy Archie (10), identical twin girls Bonnie and Adele (8) and our youngest boy Rex (6).

Archie is a boy who loves to run and jump and climb trees. He loves animals like lizards and frogs and caring for our chickens and pet cat. He also really loves minecraft! He will be in grade 5 in primary school. The little school in our town has around 30 children.

Bonnie and Adele are best friends and they are always playing together. They love to play with Duplo Lego, play dough or drawing and push their dolls around in the prams playing dress ups. They will be in their 4th year of primary school starting in January.

Rex our youngest will be 7 in April. He loves all types of sport. Especially Australian football and cricket! In January 2022 he will start his second year of primary school too! He is super excited!

We have a swimming pool and the kids all swim every day in summer.

As Gerard and Melanie both work different shifts, but whoever is home has dinner with the kids all together every night and we love doing that!
We have all our extended family living near by and we all spend a lot of time together. Family is very important to us!

The nearest large town is Albury-Wodonga. It has around 100,000 people. It has shops and bars and clubs and cinema and airport. There are other au pairs in the area too.

We’re happy to accomodate different diet preferences or requirements. We’ve had a previous au pair who was vegetarian and have close friends who are vegan.

    We’re both vaccinated.

We love to spend time with our family and friends. Spending time in nature is one of our favourite things to do, hiking, camping, fishing. Most of all we love to travel and meet people from other cultures!

We live in a farming area, about 50 minutes from the nearest big town. Albury/ Wodonga has around 120,000 people and that’s where Melanie drives to every day for work. There are other families with au pairs in the area and our previous au pairs have made some great friends here.
Albury wodonga has shopping and bars and a cinema and airport etc. the surrounding region has lots of beautiful nature, wineries, gourmet food, bushwalking, camping, fishing, skiing in winter and heaps more. Albury is an hour by plane to Sydney or Melbourne. Or about 3 hours by train to Melbourne or 7 to Sydney.
