    HOMESITTING PLEASE

    Hello wonderful people,
We are Ami, Marti & Mihai, a family with one small child, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a few chickens and ducks. We have a large house and a garden and we are looking for people willing to help us with our various projects around the home and home sitting, when we will be away in the month of July or August.
We offer free accommodation and we're welcoming you to join our meals. Also you have unrestricted access to the common spaces like kitchen, garden, bathroom... and can just do as you are most comfortable, if our program or diet is not suiting you.
We offer one room in the same house with us, or another room, facing the garden, separated from the house if more privacy is needed. We only have one shared bathroom, and one cooking space, but plenty of lounge space.

We offer our bikes to visit the local town and close by nature. Bocsa, our town has a nice river, and lots of forests in our close proximity. We sometimes go mushroom picking, take our dogs with us, and have a day in the forest.. you are most welcomed to join us.

Myself, Ami, I am an architect, and work mostly from home, but sometimes have field work and can be gone all day.
Marti is philosophical in nature, enjoys a good talk, and is also mostly at home. We have friends nearby that come visit us, and then we have good food like burgers, grills or pizza's ... we enjoy a good meal shared with friends.

We have experience both as a host, and also as volunteers, both good and bad... so we understand and respect what's most important, to feel welcomed, useful, and to have your own space when needed. Chemistry between people is very important, so if you feel attracted to our words, please drop us a line and check our availability...
Thank you for taking the time to read our post!

    Ami

    Our projects are:
    - a tree house for our son Mihai, work on this consist in basic carpentry, painting and other creative stuff
    - cleaning our garage, this a overdue task ... as we have an catamaran there (an unfinished project, sitting and collecting dust, and lots of construction materials left in disappointment)
    - normal house maintenance like cleaning, cooking, grass/cutting, feeding the chickens and making sure the dogs and cats have fresh water and food.
    - parenting our young Mihai, is an ongoing quest, he is very curious and energetic, loves people and animals and keeps us busy most of the day
    - more ambitious work, we have in mind but lack the skills to start, consists in tiling the terrace and stairs with ceramic tiles, or transforming a room for Mihai, as both require advanced skills in tiling and building furniture from scratch
    - we would also really appreciate someone with electricity skills, as we lack grounding in our house.

HOME SITTING: we need someone to take care of our home for 1 month in july or august, if you are interested you would need to be here at least 1 week before, so you can understand how we do things and get to know our pets.

We need help anywhere you feel you can contribute, as we highly value initiative and independence.
    We require 3-5h /day 5 days a week.

We offer one large bedroom in the same house with us, or another large room (usually used as an art room ), facing the garden, separated from the house if more privacy is needed. We only have one shared bathroom, and one cooking space, but plenty of lounge space.

Internet is best on the outside terrace or in the study, the offered room in the home has fairly good wifi, but the one facing the garden has poor connectivity.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our area is rich in the natural landscape, like forests lakes, old mine galleries. Our guests are welcomed to enjoy a day by the lake or hitchhiking on the trails in the forest. Alternatives outside our town involve travelling to bigger cities like Resita or Timisoara… for anything a big city has to offer.

Bocsa, our town, is accessible by bus, car or bike… our closest big city is Resita, or Timisoara, if volunteers reach these two cities then we can pick them up by car. Timisoara is a local travel hub, with the airport and all the fancy services… from there to Resita the 100km are easy to manage…

    Space for parking camper vans

Our front yard, although narrow, has space to accommodate a van, or a motor home that is not too tall, otherwise, in front of our home there is plenty space, shaded by 2 huge walnut trees ... and our area is pretty safe, we always leave our car unlocked.

    Can possibly accept pets

Pets are welcomed also! But keep in mind we have 3 dogs, two of which are a bit territorial at first, and free chickens roaming freely in the garden. We don't appreciate anyone's dog who can accidentally kill our chickens (sadly it has happened) or dogs that are unfriendly to our child or our cats. Also we prefer not to keep animals in the home, but are not strict about this... and our cats often enter the home, but at night we take them out.
