Description
I live with my wife in this 2 acre abandoned vineyard. Our main project is to build a nature-friendly straw bale house. The house will be functioning as our home and to visitors as well up to 20 people.
We like to learn and practice the wisdom and the knowledge of the old countrymen and women. We are trying to live in harmony with our mother nature and also with all our brothers and sisters and learn from them.Types of help and learning opportunities
Help with Eco ProjectsGardeningDIY and building projectsHelp around the houseCultural exchange and learning opportunities
Guests can experience the rural life in Hungary and learn about the Sümeg region and the nature. I like to walk in the forest next to the yurt and visit natural sights, castle ruins and the north side of the lake Balaton to explore.
Help
We are looking for help constructing a Straw Bale house with a cellar. If you just interested about adobe and other natural construction techniques you are welcome! We also have a small garden, we put the minimum input in gardening, but we have some fruit trees and vegetable garden to harvest and to nurture every now and then.
We are living in a semi nomad lifestyle which requires more effort to make for e.g. hot water, clean the dishes, which we appreciate if you can help with.Languages

Hungarian language is very interesting if you want to find out more about ancient thinking and culture. I am also interested in runes.Accommodation
Our shelter is a 8m diameter yurt which is suitable for 6 persons. The bathroom is not in the yurt, there is no flowing water in the toilet and the bathroom, only in the yurt. We use mostly rainwater for everything except drinking.
What else ...
The project is in a small village next to Sümeg called Csabrendek. We live next to the forest and a hill, which is inbetween Sümeg and Csabrendek. There are many natural and cultural sites nearby which are all accesible by bus. The bus stop is about 20 mins walk, but we are happy to drive you to smaller distances as we often go to Sümeg wihch is the closest town.
