Description
Hi, we are a family of five in North West Iceland. Jon and I, Karen are 28 years old and have three sons. Sigursteinn, born in December 2017, Þorsteinn born in August 2019 and Jóhann Liljar born in August 2023. We run our own farm with around 500 sheep, one stable-cat, two dogs and 30 horses which are more a hobby thing.
The sheep all have lambs in May, so there we are in the stable 24/7.
With very short notice our worker has cancelled. So we need assistance in the stable now from beginning of May. The job is to help feeding sheep, cleaning in the stable and looking after the sheep giving birth.
We live very close to the sea and have, no doubt, the most beautiful sunset in the bright summer nights! It's a bit far to the nearest town, Skagastrond, around 40 km but you get used to the distance.

Staying with the family. We can provide a room for you to have for your self. Meals are eaten together and it's no problem to get you what you are missing from the store. Unfortunately we can't offer a separate toilet/restroom or television. We live in a big house with two floors. It's around 240 m2 so there is room enough for everyone. We are slowly working on fixing/renovating the house.
What else ...
There are some hot springs not that far away. River rafting about 100 km away from us. In Autumn there are wild blueberries close to the farm. Seals like to lie up on rocks very close to our farm when the weather is nice. Especially in spring and Autumn. We don't smoke and don't want smoking inside the house. We have a good internet connection.

Always positive, willing to assist with everything needed. Helping with household, cooking, kids, feeding sheep, she solved all tasks well.
It was so lovely and we feel lucky that we could without worries leave the kids to Frederikke knowing they were in good hands. She solved conflicts they had in a good way,… read more
