Description
We are Slovenian and English speaking family who recently built our own house and bought a farm nearby to learn and live with the nature. We are not farmers, we have a background in software engineering and finances but we want to learn about the regenerative farming. Our mentors are experts in this and the more knowledge we acquire the more we can share.
Around a new house, that we have just finished, needs some attention with gardening and some construction works. It is not much, but it's a way to learn new things.
On a farm we will start the project with regeneration of the soil as soon as the weather will permit it. The plan is to plant a lot of trees, bushes, build a chicken tractor and move chicken tractor daily, take care of ducks, chicken and other small daily jobs. Since we are in engineering we are trying to optimize the work as much as possible. For example, we bought an excavator to work more efficiently.
It would be great if we can share our knowledge with you and vice versa and also do something useful in the meantime :)Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We live couple of minutes away from the oldest city in Slovenia, Ptuj, with some great exploring possibilities. 30 minutes away are the beginning of the Alps and 2 hours drive away from the Adriatic sea. Actually in all directions are possible long or short term vacation places, surrounded with the nature, history and art.
Help
We bought an old house with a barn that needs a lot of renovation. To be able to move there, we need to rebuild it.
It would be nice that you have some construction skills or at least as a helping hand that is willing to learn. After this, we will move to more small farming works.
We will need to pour some concrete and build some retaining walls, move the existing garden to new location as a no-dig garden, build a chicken tractor, smaller barn reconstruction, cleaning of the barn, help with animals, help with planning of the whole 7 hectares (18 acres) land for regenerative farming.
This is a personal project and not commercial.Languages
