Description
Our project is located in the wonderful area of the Amazon region of Ecuador, right next to a river with beautiful nature around us. You can find some of the rarest and most amazing animals (specialy bird watching) and plants just a few minutes from our house. We are an ecolodge, located 20 min by walking from the Kichwa community of Campo Cocha, near Tena, in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest. We host travellers and tourists in fair tourism tours : we only work with local people, and introduce travellers to the Kichwa way of living and thinking.

Cesar, the owner of the cabañas, has a big family. His brothers and sisters live near the cabañas and know a lot about the Amazonian rainforest environment and the Kichwa culture and legends. Discussions with them are always interesting and lively.
You can learn a lot about the traditional knowledge of the Kichwa - about traditional house construction, recepees, medicinal plants, how to make chocolate, you can experience cultural events in the village and visit the daily football matches. And of course you can practice your Spanish and even learn some Kichwa if you want to. Besides we sometimes go to search for gold in the river as well!Help
There are multiple proyects where I need help:
1. agriculture: planting, collecting, maintaining e.g. cacao, plantain, yuca, malanga
2.construction of a new house for tourism
3.I am also searching for a person that could give english lessons in the school for 3 to 6 months.
We get up early (because of the sun) and sometimes work very hard during the day, but in the afternoons after a nice shower or a bath in the river we know how to relax - you can read a book in the hammac, watch/play football or volleyball, even basketball, during the weekend, or have a walk through nature and bird watching (toucans, oropendolas, parrots etc....)Languages spoken

Accommodation
You’re going to be accomodated in a private room, - with shower, bathroom and moscito nets. We have common areas and a kitchen. All located in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon just one minute from the river.
The project is perfect for all nature lovers, people who are interested in culture and traditional construction and people who want to have an authentic experience with locals. What else ...
There are many posibillities to explore the wonderful nature surrounding us. We can take you on a canoo trip, give you a jungle tour or make chocolate together. We often go swimming in the river, watch and play in the daily football games of the village and at least once a week we go to the closest town - Tena to have some food and buy all the necessary things. Tena is one hour and fifteen minutes from Campo Cocha by bus and the journey costs 1,90 $ one way.
IMPORTANT: There is no supermarket near, so please bring your own food. However there is a foodtruck but unfortunately we can not predict when it comes and it is not reliable.A little more information
