    Description

Greetings. I was born in 1995 and grew up in an orphanage in the beautiful town of Gisenyi, Rwanda. Despite the challenges I faced, I have always been driven by a passion to make a positive impact in my community.

I am a proud father of one, although my child does not live with her mother. Sadly, I once lost my first-born daughter in September 2021, on her mother's birthday, when she was just two years old. This personal experience has fueled my dedication to creating supportive environments for young people.

In 2014, I left the orphanage to live with a family as part of a government project to close all orphanages. This transition brought me to Burima, a small village that has given me the strength and resilience to overcome many challenges. Burima is home to many talented children whose parents often leave for work, leaving the kids to play with whatever is available to them.

I am currently developing a non-profit organization, a youth center in the village of Burima-Shusho in Gisenyi. This center is a beacon of hope and opportunity for the youth in our community. Our youth center offers a variety of programs, including:

    - Dancing Academy: A place where young people can express themselves through the art of dance.
    - Young Women Organisations: Empowering young women to achieve their full potential.
    - Art and Crafts: Encouraging creativity and providing a platform for artistic expression.
    - Music Band: Bringing together musically talented youth to create and perform.
    - Sporting Activities: Promoting physical health and teamwork through various sports.
    - Educational Programs: Providing academic support, tutoring, and skill-building workshops to help youth excel in their studies and prepare for future careers.

In addition to my work with the youth center, I am also a tattoo artist. This allows me to connect with people on a personal level and help them express their individuality through body art. My love for dance began in the orphanage, where I was an active dancer. This experience has deeply influenced my commitment to the Dancing Academy at our youth center.

Our mission is to nurture the talents and skills of young people, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive. We believe in the power of community and the potential of every individual to make a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my project of youth center. Together, we can build a brighter future for the youth and young women of Burima-Shusho.

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers will benefit greatly from a cultural exchange by immersing themselves in a rich and diverse environment. They will have the chance to learn and develop various skills, such as teaching, engaging in conversations with local villagers, cooking and sharing meals, attending traditional weddings, exploring local tourist spots, and understanding the local beer-making process. These activities will provide hands-on experiences that are both educational and enjoyable, allowing travellers to gain practical knowledge while also having fun.

Moreover, this cultural exchange will help travellers broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of different cultures. By interacting with the local community, they will gain insights into the daily lives, traditions, and values of the people they meet. This exposure will foster a greater appreciation for diversity and encourage a more open-minded perspective. Travellers will also witness firsthand the entrepreneurial spirit and openness of the African people, which can be both inspiring and enlightening.

In addition to the practical skills and cultural insights, travellers will form meaningful connections and friendships during their stay. Sharing experiences with fellow volunteers and local residents will create a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect. These relationships can lead to lasting memories and a network of friends from around the world. The bonds formed through shared activities and conversations will enrich the overall experience, making it more fulfilling and memorable.

Finally, the exchange of knowledge and skills between travellers and the local community will be mutually beneficial. Travellers will bring their own unique perspectives and expertise, contributing to the community's growth and development. In return, they will learn from the local people, gaining new skills and knowledge that they can take back home. This reciprocal learning process will enhance the personal and professional growth of everyone involved, making the cultural exchange a truly transformative experience.
