Description
Hi and welcome my friends!
I am Khalid, 32 years old and I run a Bedouin camp in the Wadi Rum desert since 2019. We belong to a Bedouin family from Wadi Rum where our ancestors lived for centuries. We enjoy living in the desert and would like to invite you to our homeland and share this experience with you.
My camp is located in a peaceful and quiet corner of the Wadi Rum protected area, far from the light pollution of the village so we have an amazing night sky. There are 12 tents in the camp and a big dining tent in the middle where you can enjoy the breeze from the mountains and the incredible view of open desert. I have a local employee who helps me with organizing the camp, cleaning the tents and cooking.Types of help and learning opportunities

We want you to feel at home and welcome you as a member of our family. I will teach you dancing and singing in Bedouin style. You can learn Arabic. If you stay for a longer period, i can teach you driving 4*4 jeep in the desert. Besides, you can learn many interesting aspects of Bedouin culture and how they live in the desert.
Help
What we need at the camp:
- Volunteers who can work with the internet. For example, managing the bookings platforms (incl communication with guests through email or WhatsApp) and posting in social media.
- Welcoming our guests and helping them to feel at home
Besides, I am interested in language exchange, I can teach you Arabic and you help me tio improve my English.
I am flexible with timing and have high speed internet in the camp all day long. So, you can plan your days freely and enjoy visiting the attractions in Wadi Rum besides a couple of hours working in the camp.Languages

I stayed 2 weeks in this camp.
Khalid, his brother and other workers were very welcoming since the beginning.
I helped there with organisation and guests, the atmosphere was very relaxing. The tents are so clean and cozy.
The sky of Wadi Rum is amazing, I could watch the sunrise (I will never forget) and how the moon show up… read more
The work was reasonable. As mentioned, Khalid mostly needed computer work done for the camp. He explained his expectations at the beginning and was very hands-off, never micro-managing us. This approach allowed us to be creative… read more
