Description
We live in an olive grove in the heart of a valley in the interior of Valencia (that's the airport of arrival), more precisely in the surroundings of Enguera. We have 5 hectares of olive and carob trees. Full nature and spectacular views. We have two harvests per year.
1- The carob harvest which starts at the end of August: this year we are looking for volunteers from August 26 to September 2.
2- The olive harvest in October: this year we are looking for volunteers from October 17 to 27.
Harvesting is done the traditional way that is by hand using long sticks for the carob fruits and combs for the olives. No specific previous experience required
Our trees are not treated at all. This year it rained a lot and the carobs are abundant. On the other hand, it was very hot when the olives were blooming and the harvest will be rather small, unfortunately. But we will still pick them and go to press our oil!
If you are interested in helping us, you will be accommodated in our beautiful guest house. 100% solar energy. It has 3 rooms, two of them have 2 single beds, the other one a double bed. For meals, there is a kitchen in the house and you will be able to prepare your own food. It is also possible to eat together, as you wish.
If you have skills in permaculture, we are very interested ! Contact us !
We will work every morning until 2pm. Afterwards, you will have free time to recharge your batteries, go for a walk, ride a mountain bike or go horseback riding (there is a horse riding club 7 minutes away on foot). If you are lucky, you may see a couple of eagles, wild goats, owls or miss fox.
===============
Types of help and learning opportunities

We don't sell for production. The oil is for our own consumption. We would like to develop a permacultural garden, for our own consumption too.Languages spoken
