Description
Hi :) we are looking for someone to stay in Tozu where i work at the bar. Thank you!
See you soon
Hello! We live isolated up in the green pristine mountains of Asturias which are buzzing with wild life, by the Natural Park of Redes.
We need 2 kinds of help... have a close look and choose what suits you best :)
1) In Tozu where we run a little country restaurant in the middle of the mountains. I need help with my 4 year old when I am busy, Speaking Spanish to him slowly as he is taking time to speak fluently. Playing with him and going for walks around the village. Also help with homework or go exploring with the teenagers.
Tozu is 5 km Up and down mountains away from where we live. You will have your own bedroom in our little apartment above the bar. We dont live in this apartment but we use it when bar is open. Meals will be provided at lunch or when in bar, but when not in the bar we can just provide you with the food needed to cook in the kitchen in the appartment. The bar is close from monday to Friday.
The help is not in the bar itself. But helping our family to get on!
2) In our very isolated home where only 4x4 can get to. It is 5 km up and down the mountain from Tozu. Here we are restoring an old stone house and also extending the organic vegetable plot.
Food and accommodation (caravan) is provided in exchange for help to do a range of chores that suits you best like; removing dry stone walls, weeding, stock fencing, digging to get plots ready, mowing, planting, watering, pointing. Firewood, fencing, only if you are interested you can learn from Jono some building skills. Housework, help with children, their homework, play and talk slowly in Spanish to our 4 year old Who is finding trouble to speak fluently and cooking family meals in evening... everything is needed!
Activities such as caving, rock (and tree) climbing, trekking are possible in these wild mountainous surroundings. We speak both English (Jono is English) and Spanish (I am from Asturias) so if you'd like to practice a foreign language we can help you. I am not always at home as I run a little restaurant (5 tables) in "El Tozu" 5 km away from the house.
We are 20 minutes drive from town and we usually go down once per week.
Everyone willing to help is welcome! Sandra, Jono, 2 boys and toddler
Public transport bus (ALSA) or train (FEVE) reaches Infiesto, 20 minutes drive from home or Tozu.
==================

A different way of living!! Isolated and inmerse in the mountains with difficult access. Learn as we do about growing our own crops and reconnecting with nature. You will find some peace and quiet if you wish or come to the village where we run a little bar and get the real rural Asturias and North of Spain! If we have spare time we can visit secret Asturian places :) Tell us, what would you like to get in exchange?
