Description
We need help to put up privacy fencing for a week or two immediately.
Ourselves and family?
Friendly and warm, love people and helping together with you. We believe in give and take and treating people well. We do need help as we are two retired folks but not "oldies". Our children and grandchildren live far away so we go for "temporary adoption" of young people. We are the odd couple; Ozzie and Asian, interesting backgrounds and love a good joke and are experienced travellers.
Project?
We need help in painting and general maintenance for our some machinery. We just need ONE DILIGENT, CREATIVE HELPER ( or two ) . Its pleasant work with the natural bushland only metres away.
The other project is to clean up the big shed which has too much stuff. We want to sell our unneeded stuff online and assist with photography and items cleanliness.
You can hike to beautiful spots along the coastline. Camp in nearby National Parks and reserves. We live in Gulmarrad, New South Wales close to Maclean, Yamba, Illuka, Angourie and Broomshead beaches.
The area has huge rivers, lakes, islands and wonderful climate, white sandy beaches not far away. Surfing ,fishing and bush-walking are available in your leisure time. So much to do and no one has been bored yet!Types of help and learning opportunities
GardeningDIY and building projectsHelp around the houseGeneral MaintenanceHelp with Computers/ InternetCultural exchange and learning opportunities
You can learn how two cultures interact and live with each other.
Learn how to appreciate different languages and cultures with their values and nonsensical habits. But best of all learn to appreciate great fusion food, where East meets West. Learn about people and different geographical parts of the world. We also have friends who would love to interact with you.Help
We need gardening help; to plant trees and grass. Use a lawn mower. Carry some loads and general assistance for some mechanical chores. Some simple building maintenance. Maybe cooking your favourite dish to share your cuisine?

I wish to learn Arabic, Russian and Hebrew.Accommodation
In return, we provide great modern and comfortable accommodation. Laundry facilities. Buses to main cities and towns. We have bicycles for your use. We also have a car each and can take you into town.. We expect the workawayer to respect our facilities and keep it clean and tidy. Smoking is not allowed inside the premises as one of us is allergic to cigarette smoke. We promise to treat you well. You will share our lovely home.
What else ...
Our home is in Gulmarrad, 5 mins to Maclean, Yamba (18km), Brooms Head (14km) and Byron Bay (120km). 2 hours away from Gold Coast. Maclean celebrates their Scottish heritage by having a great Easter show of bagpipes, parades and markets. Christmas is fun here like in Byron Bay only less crowded. Grafton has Jacaranda Festival in mid October until November, if you like purple trees!
Gulmarrad is accessible to state forest reserves and national parks and camping areas. Best fishing spots as well as scenic places. Surfing and sand boarding. Whale watches and dolphins! So you will have a look at farms, towns, beaches and real Aussie lifestyle.
Weather wise, its nice and warm. For tourist activities, look at Visit Clarence Valley, NSW. There are also lots of market gardens, lovely Saturday and Sunday markets, art galleries and local wild-life. Swimming, surfing, water rafting, river ferry cruises, bush walks, coastal walks, wild bird-life and many natural activities. Yamba is just 25 minutes away and Byron Bay is one and a half hours away.. Our secret beach is less than 20 minutes away.
WE REALLY WANT A HELPER AND NOT Laze-abouts. Those with a bit of building and general maintenance and gardening skill will do well. If you are helpful and eager to do the chores and learn, its ok! We'll love to teach you. We do get away for short trips and week-ends and you are welcome to join us. Bush camping!! Caravaning! 4 WD off road. Boating! Fishing! Koalas in the wild sightings!
You can learn Mandarin and Malay/Indonesian and English from us. Learn Asian cooking and Aussie dishes.
You can choose to come by many ways, air, train, bus coaches or car. Details provided when you want to come. Look at Australian map before you come. Any questions, I am happy to answer. No worries.A little more information

I stayed with Ling and Berry for 10 days. First couple of days were pretty hard work, as everybody knows who ever moved. But they always made me feel comfortable.
