    Description

    * We need time to make a decision for your staying. We're looking for someone who really can be one of us, not a visitor. So it should be discussed with whole members of Village very considerately that's why it takes time to reply in your application. Please Understand this generously, and only in the case you really willing to do it, apply for this program with your sincere heart.
    * We don't accept family, couples, friends who come together. In that case, you'd rather to use our retreat home (Charged temple stay)
    * We don't find a visitor for their vacation but we find someone who will be sincerely dedicated to the community as a part of us even it's limited time and who really want to know what is the community living with Buddha's Dharma and the enlightenment.
    * In the village, only vegan food without 5 pungent herbs is accepted. Out of village, during the community activity, there can be situation to eat all kind of food. If you are vegan, you can pack your food from the kitchen and eat out together.
    * For now we don't have available male accommodation in the village. Sorry.
    * In our community, there are deeply considered rules and disciplines that allow all members to live harmoniously together.
    If you wish to do things in your own way, please go to a place where you can enjoy such freedom.
    This is a “Sangha Community” where the rules and regulations that have been carefully made for living together must be respected. It is a community of the Fourfold Assembly (monks, nuns, male and female followers) that guides the way to complete inner peace within strict discipline and order.
    * We do not accept volunteers who come with the mindset of “doing something for us” or “helping out” without the "willingness to learn." We only welcome those who come with humility, an open heart, and a sincere wish to learn how to live together in mindfulness and respect. Because living in the community itself is every moment actually helping each other out fully.

    We are Buddhist Community living as a "Pristine Mind"

    Our village is four group community.
    Bhikku(Buddhist Monk), Bhikkhuni(Buddhist Nun), Upasaka(Male Follower) and Upasika(Female Follower). These four groups are the basic elements that make up the Buddhist Community.

    We are seeking someone who is in need of an opportunity to experience the deeply lived life of and to contribute to our Buddhist Community.

    We have a program for volunteer to learn and experience enough our life style based on spiritual journey.

    *Minimum stay : 4 weeks (extension needed to be discussed after 4 weeks)
    *Volunteer Hour : 50min * 4 times, 5 days per week + Community tasks in case of necessity
    *Program : Morning meditation(45min), Mindfulness Study

    In our village, Monks, Buddhists and also common visitors live together, help together, hang out together happily.
    There is the charity part facilities where you mainly do helping - like Gardening, the temple(the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism), the Temple kitchen (Gong-yang-gan), the residences for the monks and disciples, community farms, meditation center, tea house, etc...

    We also have a community business facilities you can use like a Vegetarian restaurant, Vegan coffee shop, Vegan cookie workshop etc.. All volunteer activities of Workawayers are dedicated to serving the residents and monks living in the village, and there are no activities for personal gain.
    All community businesses are completely non-profit which maintain the village community, and there are no paid positions or jobs that require wages for Workawayers.
    Our objective is To Make Whole World Happy, To Be Happy All Together.
    We are very welcome everyone who are willing to try to live with this type of life.

    Our place in Geochang is located 15min far from downtown by car. Calm and peaceful nature of our village is surrounded by the Mountains and the river which give the greatest scenery all the time.
