Description
About me:
I love learning new things. I am always looking for new challenges.
I am an English teacher and I have a lot of experience with children. I have worked as an aupair in the United States for two years. When I got back to Brazil I started teaching English and evetually opened my own private language school.
To chill, I like watching series, or movies. I also enjoy going swimming or going for a bike ride.
I grew up in a small city which makes me enjoy calm and tranquility. I am friendly and I like meeting new people.
About my school:
It is a small private English school in a country city in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The school has students from different age groups, but mostly teenagers. The workawayer who chooses this program will share his/her culture and teach English at our local language school. He/she is not required to have experience in teaching, but that, or a teaching certificate is a plus.
We have a lesson plan that needs to be followed in the classes. The volunteer will receive training in the first week of arrival if he/she doesn't have experience with teaching.
The workawayer will stay at my house, I have a spare bedroom with a double bed. He/she will share the bathroom with me. There is free food (whatever we eat).
I ask volunteers to stay at least 6 weeks. In this case, volunteers will do no more than 20 hours of classroom instructions per week and 5 hours of preparation for the classes.
If a workawayer wishes to come on a study visa, we also provide Portuguese lessons. Details will be discussed in a meeting.
Volunteers who choose this program will be received with arms open and will be treated as family. It is going to be their home away from home.Types of help and learning opportunities

Volunteers who choose this program will benefit from the cultural exchange. They will be able to learn the language, local culture and eat local food. During their free time, they can go biking or hiking in the countryside and visit beautiful waterfalls, or just hang out with us and practice Portuguese.

First, the students. I had 6 different groups with different levels. From 2 to 6 students per group. I had kids, teenagers and adults. A great variety but they all had one thing in common; they were amazing students, curious, smiley, always happy to be there and to participate in the… read more
