Description
Dear friends,
We want to invite you to spend the next summer at our CAMP for AWESOME KIDS (together with more than 20 international volunteers), in the unique and beautiful region of Transylvania, Romania.
Here we want you to feel at home, as you join a fantastic team of leaders that will have lots of fun, create magic together, and inspire young generations to live with passion!
We use English as our main language for activities but get ready to learn some Romanian words and expressions as you go.
Please take some minutes to mindfully read these paragraphs as we have prepared them to give you a big and clear picture of the Life at Camp.
We would LOVE to have you here because:
+ With your mindful presence and contribution, we will create a multicultural environment that allows all members to cooperate and grow, as we lead groups of children through a fun and inspiring experience.
+ You can share your stories, energy, and ideas to make Camp a unique experience every week. Our kids will love to meet you and learn from you as much as they can, from your personality to your country’s culture and all the creativity and activities you propose. We will do our best to support those ideas you bring in.
+ We need your help to empower our children and teens by becoming a role model to them, teaching them good values and habits that can transform their lives while creating long lasting memories and friendships.
+ We want to bring the World to the children of Romania, which come from every corner of the country. Give them the chance to see life from different perspectives and connect with you as this exchange happens.
- You can share your talents, abilities, and energy, as you develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. You will also get to challenge yourself and connect with like-minded people.
So please consider joining us in this ambitious and certainly rewarding mission!
:)
OTHER GREAT REASONS to come here...
+ ROMANIA IS BEAUTIFUL, and its people are extremely WELCOMING! You will come to the center of the country, the region of Transylvania, and you will live in a small village located 15 minutes away from Alba Iulia, a slow-paced city with a wonderful UNESCO Site.
+ Your meals and accommodation are FULLY COVERED. We also can provide meals to vegetarian/vegan people.
+ It's a FUN and EXCITING project: You will have freedom and support to design and implement camp’s activities that fit your area of skill and experience. Campers are between 6 and 17 years old. You will enjoy from outdoor games and sports to arts and crafts and dances. Team building challenges and talent shows as well, without forgetting our special Campfire and Carnival nights.
+ You will have the opportunity to join some daytrips and hikes in the free time, free of charge (transport and entrance). By bus we will take you to places like an Aquapark with slides and a swimming pool, an Adventure High Ropes Park, a waterfall hike, and possibly some sites like the Ramet Monastery or Trascau Mountains.
+ NEW FRIENDS are waiting for you, since you will live and work together with other young volunteers from all over the world, you will have the opportunity to make connections and enjoy this experience together, both during activities and during your free time.
+ A lot of our volunteers keep coming back summer after summer, so it might not be the last time we see each other :)
+ The Camp site IS AMAZING, it has everything we need, a lot of facilities and it’s located in a nice and charming village, surrounded by countryside landscapes and nature.
+ We saved the best reason for you to be here, for the end: Our CHILDREN. They are amazing, very energetic, smart, with smiling and grateful faces, they connect with international leaders very easily and you will be their idol as soon as they see you!
Trust us, it’s been proved already, be ready to feel like a famous star and sign lots of t-shirts at the end of each Camp! :)Types of help and learning opportunities

Language exchange, meet a lot of young people from all over Romania and all around the World, experience Romania's landscape, our traditions, and culinary habits. You can share your culture through your charisma and learn as much as you can, as a person, as a volunteer, as a leader and as a professional. It's an amazing opportunity for self development and for busting your self confidence, with supportive and caring people around you. The result is a magical experience.

DURATION of the Volunteer Service:
- Minimum service for each volunteer: 4 weeks.
- Maximum – around 3 months (we start at the beginning of June and we end the season in the first week of September).
About YOUR HELP as a volunteer at Camp:
- You will join one of our Programs each week (English, Life Skills, Around the World, Sports or Games) as an active member of a team, and you will work together to develop quality sessions that fulfill your program’s goals. All campers have four activity blocks per day (you will be in 2 of them) and after dinner we all co-lead the Evening Program (every day is different, we will have contests, talent show, campfire, carnival, etc.). We have a meeting every evening to clarify next day’s agenda and responsibilities. The remaining time is your time off. As a support role, once a week, you may supervise campers during all breaks and lead a warmup session (normally 4 to 6 volunteers per day), which gives you the opportunity to connect with all campers, have some chill conversations with them as you provide needed assistance in specific locations, and make sure all participants follow the co-existence agreements.
- You will help us organize those camp activities and lead them, which means setting them up, giving instructions, playing with participants, teaching some skills, encouraging positive energy and good behaviors, ensuring safety, and cleaning up (with participants support). You will have the opportunity to go with groups of children to some day trips where you get to experience life outside Camp while being co-responsible for their safety and enjoyment.
- Activities that you would like to lead and prepare can vary from quick icebreaker games to a more structured session or project. Depending on your skills, experience, and level of confidence we invite you to lead: Arts & Crafts workshops, Dancing or Fitness sessions, other languages workshops or meditation sessions, personal development workshops with team building challenges, and any other appropriate and empowering ideas you may have.
- You will be accommodated in a co-living space with other volunteers, and here you will have access to laundry, kitchen, food storage, eating spaces and chilling areas. We ask you to cooperate by following the co-existence agreements, help us keep it clean and treat it like your own home.
- Your age: between 18-40!
- On your days off you are free to join our proposed daytrip for the entire staff (free of charge) or you can travel on your own, make your own plans, and at your expense, to visit some nice places not so far away, like Sibiu, Sighisoara, Dracula’s Castle in Bran or Brasov City. We advise you to save some days or a week after your service at Camp ends, to go and explore the best Romanian sightseeing spots.
Also, you you will stay with us more then a month, we ask our staff to take an entire week off, as some people will be at camp for the entire season and we need to disconnect as well, at some point.
If you are interested in joining us, please contact us and we can answer any question or concern you may have!
We are looking forward to hearing from you! :)
Best regards,

ARRIVING DETAILS:
Search for Alba Iulia on the Map, this is where we normally meet. The camp is located 15 minutes away from the city, so we will pick you up by car when you arrive.
There are three airports in the area: Targu Mures, Cluj and Sibiu, all around 1-2 hours away from Alba Iulia.
There is a train station with some international connections, and lots of buses going throughout Europe! Teius is another good option, to arrive by train.
Of course, we can help you organize this.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us, and we hope to welcome you at camp this season!
