    Description

Let's start the conversation. There is so much to tell! We as a family started in 2007 with the renovation of a beautifull court, with several buldings, including the main house, an old gentleman's farm dated out 1840 and a simple monumental farmers home build in 1734. Since 2007 the court is owned by our family. Since then, much has been done. Our family consists of our parents: Loes en Brand, oldest son Gerbrand and his wife Maaike and their kids Thijme and Veerle, oldest daughter Bertina and her partner Jeroen and their kid Tom, youngest daughter me, Marloes and my boyfriend Lech. We are a close family and in our holidays we try to spend as much time possible in Gunsleben. My parents are retired and spend most of their time there. You will see them the most. My mother Loes is a very hospitable, warm and friendly host. Her cooking skills are great! She will look after you like you belong to the family. My father is very handy and does most of the jobs around the house.

During our journey we see that other people also appreciate the rural environment were the times stops. The house is located in a village with 300 people. The monumental duiling needs attention inside and outside the house. We are open to people who are handy with tools and have some basic knowledge about jobs in and around the house. Or at least eager to learn and willing to work hard to close the day with a refreshment and a nice meal.

The garden has a beautiful south-facing location and is a pleasure to walk through because of the many nut trees, apple and plum trees. The two-hectare landscaped garden is beautifully surrounded by borders with various trees and shrubs. There is also always something to do here for outdoor enthusiasts. Think of pruning work, earth moving and mowing. There are activities for everyone that match your personal preference. Technical or non-technical. Inside and outside. With or without people. Heavy and light work.

The only mindset we ask is that you are open to instructions and willing to spend the time agreed to help positively. In return you can share in our spatial wealth and gain an experience.

We would like to meet people who like to work outside and inside to upgrade the farm house of 1734. But also the garden needs always a friendly eye that see the work that can be done. In the main building all the amenities are available such as multiple bathrooms, toilets and kitchen areas. Just like sleeping areas and common areas for games. The residents of the main building are friendly and helpful and appreciate a helping hand in the daily care of the house and household. Think of chopping wood, gardening and communal cooking.

The house is situated near the Harz. There are multiple bikes available and also some lost moped and an off-road motorcycle that, with a little love, are suitable for exploring the area. The village is located near locations as Oschersleben and Magdenburg. From there Berlin is two hours away. Picking up and bringing to central public transport locations is no problem.

We are a dutch family that bought a house in Germany. The area is so peaceful and quiet. My father is handy and speaks german and english. My mother is very hospitable and speaks a little german and english.

Our family is a warm family and you will feel at home for sure.
