Description
Our farm is hidden deep in the forests of Eastern Estonia, near lake Peipus (Lake Peipsi). It is surrounded by fields and peaceful nature.
Our Family has five members. The landlord Aivar is a true Estonian man with hands of gold. There is no task too difficult for him. The hostess Eha spends most of her free time in the garden. She's the reason we won the award for the most beautiful garden in Estonia. I’m the youngest daugther Aivi and I'm following my parents lead. Last year I graduated with a master's degree in agricultural science and currently work as a agronomist in Estonian Crop Research Institute. I have two older siblings - a brother and a sister, who visit the coutnryside only on weekends or holidays. We have one dog named Mõmmi (Teddybear). Hi is a true guarddog. We also have a bunch of cats, a rooster with chickens, turkeys and goose's Ants and Madilda. There are many beehives and plenty of bears who want to steal the honey... kidding!
Our family produces more than 500 tonnes of pickled cucumbers a year and this year we started producing sauerkraut and mushrooms as well. We also grow other vegetables such as pumpkins, garlic, zucchinis, cabbage, etc. Since we have a flexible schedule, workdays often start at different times.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
April – May we start pregrowing plants and placing them in pots. After that we plant them in the field and perform maintainance work throughout the summer, including weeding, watering, and fertilizing the plants and gathering the crops. Pickling cucumbers starts in august and lasts until the end of september. Several tonnes of cucumbers are washed daily using a vegetable washing machine. Since the cucumbers are brought from across Estonia, help is also needed to lift the cucumber bags which weigh about 20-40 kgs. Muscels guaranteed!

What else ...
In your free time you can fish on lake Peipus or on sunny days ride a bicycle to the lake (3 km) and swim and visit our Russian neighbors. We have many village parties where you can see and hear famous Estonian singers and bands. When you’ve had enough of the countryside you can escape to Tallinn which is 186 km or two and a half hours away or Tartu 65 km away. We can have hiking and camping trips and visit the historical and sightseeing spots around Estonia. In the spring time the magical forest is full of berries and mushrooms. Our dog Mõmmi will show you the best picking places and protect you from the wild animals.
