    Description

I am originally from Galway, Ireland. My husband, our little girls and I do not live in Ireland but we spend every summer Galway and I still have family there. Our girls will turn 4 years old in July. In August they will start school at a French speaking school - that is why we are looking for a French speaker to spend to join us during our holiday in Galway. At the moment the girls love doing crafts, dancing, reading, swimming and playing hide and seek.

Galway is a really fun town and despite it's small size is a very multi-cultural place. Is it a great place to explore the west of Ireland from, Connemara, and the Wild Atlantic Way are all on our doorstep. Being a University town, Galway has a young feel and there is always something happening in the summer months . The Arts Festival is one of the biggest summer festivals in Ireland and brings creative people from all over the world to our town. Yes, it rains a lot but if we get the bonus of some fine sunny days the ambience in town is the best in Ireland.

    Timings & locations:
We will be in Galway for the month of July. I am looking for someone who could join us around 6/7 July. We have a beautiful house in Galway City. It is an old house which we will completely renovate next year. This year we hope to just enjoy our time in Galway and do some planning for our renovation (but no construction this year)! The atmosphere in Galway is really great in summer, the town is busy with tourists and there is always something to see or do. The Arts Festival which runs for the last two weeks of July is super, we always enjoy it (if you are interested in meeting more young people they are always looking for volunteers, it looks quite fun!). Our house is walking distance to everything, bars, restaurants, shops, the beach, and a playground :)

What we would like help with:
The primary function of your role will be child care. I am looking for someone responsible and reliable that I can trust with the girls for a few hours every day (except days off) while I am out or when I am preoccupied with other tasks. I would like you to speak French with the girls as much as possible, while doing some activities together.
In terms of house work - some help with a little bit of house work in the day would be helpful, for eg., tidy the kitchen after meals, empty the dishwasher, fold the laundry.
We would like some help with babysitting a few times a week so we can go out in the evenings - we will plan our weeks in advance so that you too can make plans for how to spend your time.

My family and I are hoping to learn more French, in particular my children and I. We are very happy to help out with English language learning. My children will start at a French speaking school this year so it is important for all of us to become conversant.

    A few things to note:
    - Looking after two small children is pretty straightforward but it is still big a responsibility. While your time with the girls will always be limited to a few hours a day, if you would like to join our family you must feel comfortable with this responsibility and feel confident that you have the right skills.
Being naturally cautious (e.g., if taking the girls for a walk or knowing where both of them are at the playground); being patient (they usually behave well with adults but can argue with each other); and being responsible & reliable (e.g, always having your phone with you and charged if you are with the girls) are all essential. A positive attitude and up-beat personality will make the job very easy. Children can sense good vibes and will respond really well to that.
    - Our house is a no-smoking house - no smoking in the house or gardens or around the children outside of the house.
    - Babysitting a few evenings a week will be additional task and an opportunity to make some pocket money if you are interested.
    - We have wifi
    - We do not have any pets
