    Description

I have a mixed cultural background and speak English primarily and am also fluent in German and speak basic spanish. We have a friendly dog and also have gardeners with their dogs who take care of the extensive farmland on a daily basis. Professionally I am a counsellor / personal development facilitator. Privately, our home is generally of an open house sociable nature with neighbours and friends popping by . The house is located about 2 km from the town center of Orgiva nestled in an ancient olive grove. There is also an independent wagon home for more privacy when there are more visitors in the house. Though the land is quite large for my dog to run around, I do like taking him for walks in the surrounding nature. Otherwise I also enjoy regular exercise through playing badminton and padel at the local sports center.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

My land is a certified organic farm irrigated through the ancient water channels built by the moors, and anyone interested can learn about local farming ways while visiting. One can in any case improve English while living and helping together. For someone looking for the warmth and sunshine of southern Spain in a rural setting close enough to town to also enjoy drinks and tapas, this particular property in the valley is like a small paradise in itself with olive trees over 1000 years old. The area has attracted a mixture of nature lovers, hikers, artists, healers, the spiritual and cultural minded, from different nationalities and walks of life. There are many offerings of cultural or nature workshops and sporty activities in the area. I would be happy to introduce my work away guests to neighbours and friends and help you to pursue any interests and activities you may have.

  • Help

    Help

I am partly retired and would need the help of someone with energy to spare. Currently I have a carpentry project which I´d need semi-professional help for. I have a team of two gardeners who deal with the major tasks of taking care of the olive grove and vegetable garden, but I can always need someone to help with small gardening projects, general maintenance tasks and DIY "handyman/woman" projects.

The house is spacious with shared kitchen and living areas both indoors and outdoors. Depending on availability, there are 2 guest rooms in the house each with en-suite own bathroom. Or there is also a delightful idyllic wagon home near the house with it´s own bathroom a few steps away.

Food is provided for breakfast, lunch and evening mainly vegetarian, but also fish or meat occasionally (no pork). Main warm meal for lunch.

    What else ...

It is an advantage to have your own car, but it is also not far (20 mins) to walk to the village centre where there are several bars, a weekly market and activities in the plaza particularly during the summer. There are buses from there to Granada or to the coast. I can also give you a ride from time to time if needed.
