Description
Hello everyone! We are Stephe and Linnet and we are looking forward to welcome you at our home! We have a primary school in Majaoni, Kilifi Country, where we give 150 children the opportunity to experience good education. With our four children which are between 2 and 15 years old we are living next to the school. We had already three volunteers and many visitors staying with us and it has been always a unique experience for us and especially for our kids. Due to that we would love to welcome more people to our home.

Help
DO WHAT YOU CAN DO BEST!
In general we are very happy for volunteers which want to teach in our primary school (you don't need a teaching degree). This contains teaching foreign languages, games, songs, dances, painting, computer classes, music classes... Feel free to teach what you can teach best. There is no minimum of volunteering hours a day. We appreciate it if you feel like teaching for about 2 hours daily.
Volunteering can be everything for us: For example creating some art projects, constructing, gardening planing some charity projects.
For your help you gonna receive:

At the moment we are happy to offer a room next to our house which accommodates 2 people. You have your own entry and your own toilet. We are dreaming of our future project to reconstruct one of our classrooms to build a dorm room for volunteers with a kitchen that we can welcome more people at the same time.
What else ...
Linda Morning Star Primary school is located in Majaoni, a village which is 20 minutes away from Kilifi. You can get easily to Kilifi by a Pikipiki (Motorbike) or by a Tuktuk. Oneway costs less than 2$. In Kilifi you can chill out at Bofa Beach, try some Kite Surfing, visit markets, local restaurants, go for boat rides, kayaking, enjoy the nightlife and much more. You can also visit some places around, like Watamu to go on snorkeling or diving trips, to see flamingos and much more..

First of all, the family is spectacular. The two parents are always there for you, helping you with everything. They are used to having visitors, so they know some of the differences between Kenyan lifestyle and European lifestyle and are always open to anything (in terms of food, living conditions...) .
The kids are also… read more
Ce projet m’a énormément enrichi. Partir en volontariat dans une école à côté de Kilifi au kenya en Afrique permet de faire relativiser sur la vie, de gagner en maturité, d’apprendre à vivre en communauté avec des personnes inconnues à la base.

Unfortunately I was only able to be with the children for one week because I got sick just when I arrived in Kilifi. But the time I was able to do things with the children was… read more
