    ABOUT US...
We are a family of 5 living in Byron Bay, looking for demi au-pair to support our family.

We are a little surfing family who spend almost every weekend at the beach teaching our kids to surf and trying to catch waves ourselves.
Our children are aged 8, 6 and 2. Taya (8) our daughter, Nash (6) and Janda (2) our sons.

We live in a small but vibrant town called Mullumbimby, just 20 mins from Byron Bay and 10 mins from Brunswick Heads beach. (More about our location below).

My husband is a builder and works long hours. I work for myself as a women's mentor in between taking care of our children and creating a harmonious home.
Jess (my husband) and I met when I was a yoga teacher and he was a student. We are both health conscious people and live a very healthy, active lifestyle. As an example, we would rather go surfing together than go out on a dinner date at night :) Our children attend a Steiner school and we raise our children with respect to that way of being as it aligns to our family values of supporting our children to be whole and thriving on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.

    ABOUT MULLUMBIMBY...
Mullumbimby is a vibrant hippie town full of eclectic people pursuing alternative lifestyles. Many people flock to Mullumbimby to get a taste of what Byron Bay used to be back in the day.
Mullumbimby is located 10 mins from the stunning beaches of Brunswick Heads and at the foothills of the hinterland, and is the perfect base to explore idyllic Australian beaches, waterfalls, waterholes and bush-trails.
We are within walking and riding distance to Mullumbimby town and have bikes for you to use.
We live in a lovely community and neighbourhood that has walking trails, bike paths, a playground, basketball court, tennis court and soccerfield a stones throw away, and an easy stroll with the kids.

    ABOUT BYRON BAY...
Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations that lures backpackers and travellers from all over the world, with it’s postcard perfect coastline. Our current au pair argues Byron Bay to be the best place for young travellers to land and live.
From Byron you can go kayaking with dolphins, scuba diving with turtles, and take day tours to the great barrier reef, as well as many more.
Byron Bay also has a great retail, cafe and nightlife culture. A great and popular afternoon is to watch the sun go down from the main beach as dolphins play in front of you with your favourite drink in hand listening to local buskers, then walk into town to grab a bite to eat and continue on your night meeting fellow travellers and friends.

I worked as an au pair when I was a young traveller working for families in Switzerland and Italy and absolutely loved the experience. I found it such a unique way of truely experiencing a country from a locals point of view and such a beautiful cultural experience.

We are your typical Aussie family, who lives in an idyllic community that has the kids playing out on the street till dark, shared meals with friends and as much time as we can in the ocean. We would love to invite you into experience this Aussie way of living.

    ABOUT OUR ARRANGEMENT...
Our arrangement with our current au pair is that you support our family for 20 hours per week in exchange for rent and food.
With the opportunity to earn money with additional hours
As a demi au pair we will only require you to support our family for 20 a week, giving you the freedom and independence to explore the region and even get a part time job if you desire.
Duties will include looking after our children and home support like light tidying, laundry, vacuuming, making the kids breakfast and going to town on errands.
Specific hours can be arranged and are negotiable but you’re week would generally look like 4 hours Mon-Thursday, 3 hours Sunday afternoon.

Helping 20 hours a week allows you the freedom and independence to explore and travel the region, and get a part time job if that is what you desire. If you would like to earn money while you are staying with us, friends of ours are willing to offer approximately 10 hours of baby sitting help per week and pay you nicely for it.
Our current au pair works for them and really enjoys them as a family and earning that nice bit of cash on the side to pay for her adventures.

We will happily work around other work hours if you have them.

We are an early to rise early to bed family so your support in the morning will start around 6.30am.

You will have access to my car when you are supporting our family. We are a short bike ride into town and have bikes for you to use.
You will have your own room located next to the childrens room and down the hall from the bathroom you will share with the children.
Our home is a newer home with cooling and heating to keep you comfortable any time of the year.

    Accommodation

You will have your own spacious, light filled room, sharing bathroom with the kids.
My husband and our have our own ensuite and bedroom at the other end of the house to keep things private.

We live in a new, light filled 3 bedroom home in the suburbs. Across the road from our house is a playground and bike/walking track. A tennis court, basketball court, soccer field and bush trail overlooking the mountains are a 2 minute walk away.
Down the road are horses and cows in paddocks, and birdsong sings you to sleep at night. In our opinion we have the best of both worlds, an immersion in nature, with close proximity to convenience and community.
