Description
Nestled in the lap of nature, just two hours away from Bangalore, the camp is a nature lover's haven.
We are practicing permaculture for vegetables, millets and also harvesting heirloom non hybrid seeds.
Along with being a permaculture farm, it has also been set up as an education and research centre for folks to attend nature focussed workshops, be it birding, butterflies or herpetology.
While we encourage volunteers, interns, researchers to come here we also welcome others to come and visit us to have an immersive experience of what our permaculture farm and jungle camp offers.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Workawayers shall learn first hand what works and doesnt work when implementing permaculture design techniques. The volunteers and the team have dinner together everyday and we all share our experiences. The Bamboo Rustles team members share our journey on creating a sustainable place. Volunteers also get to meet and work with local villages who come and work at the farm and understand their festivals and cultural traditions.
Help
We have 3 kinds of projects you can participate in.
First - Looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist us with organic and perma-culture farming. These will be tasks like creating raised beds of hay and mud, planting seeds and watering them. There is NO digging work involved.
Second: Help us do local flora and fauna surveys. This requires you to either be a naturalist or a field biologist or have keen interest in birds and insects.
Third: Art. We have some nature focused murals to be painted. We are also making some hanging art pieces to be put up in dining area. You can help with thisLanguages spoken

What else ...
Mallappa Konda Temple offers a beautiful scenic view as it is also on the confluence point of three states - Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. For activities we also have kayaking trip and once a week and a trek once a week. We also welcome guests to go to the weekly village market with us.
We hope to have interesting conversations at dinner and play card games at night. There is enough time for volunteers to relax on hammocks and read a bookA little more information
