    Description

Our family is currently looking for a couple who have building construction skills and are willing to help with renovations on a small cottage.

We are a husband and wife team running beef cattle on 1250 ha working farm . Our son, his partner and two boys (aged 4 and 5) also live on the property in another house .

Our farm is situated 20 km north of Cassilis village which is located in the Hunter Valley between Merriwa and Coolah, or 110km north west of Mudgee. We are geographically fairly isolated, however the scenery is very beautiful.

We are looking for Workawayers who are interested in leaving the beaten track to learn about rural life on a working farm in Australia. You will not be expected to work on farm related activities in exchange for your food and accommodation, however we are willing to help you develop skills relating to beef cattle and sheep management if you would like to participate in those activities while staying on our farm.

The terrain is hilly to steep, with two creeks running through the property. The farm is vegetated with natural pastures and bush-land areas.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

For many years we have enjoyed having backpackers from a wide range of cultural backgrounds come and stay on our farm. Quite a number of them return, or stay for a lot longer than they anticipated. If you are looking for a real Aussie farm experience off the beaten track, away from the usual tourist route, this is it! You will learn about our way of life while developing new skills and we like to learn from you too.
