    Description

Our family language is German, but we also speak Spanish and English. There is mum, dad and two kids aged 1,5 and 7 in our family. We also have a very charming cat named Romeo. My husband is a carpenter and I am a primary school teacher.
Our main proyect is currently the refurbishment of an old Galician farm house. Apart from that we love our big garden, where we've been planting eagerly in the past two and a half years. We are implementing permaculture and agroforestal methods within our planting plan. But we also like to simply try out different gardening approaches and see what works best in this particular climate here. Moreover, we love healthy and fresh food, activities, Yoga, games and craftings, trips, all kinds of projects regarding to nature.
We'd like to open our place up to people, who are curious about the country, the experience of living in nature and who have energy to give us a hand on our land in order to make our everyday-life a bit smoother and more joyful.

The Galician coast offers plenty of secret beaches, natural parks, sights and natural secrets to explore. We live 5min from Ortigueira, where you find shops, nice cafés, restaurants and a weekly market. Alongside the coast you reach Viveiro within 30min and A Coruña, which is a big city, within an hour. The Mañón area in the mountains is full of ruins and celtic myths. At the Rio Sor you can go canoeing, go for a swim or visit old water mills. In general it is very handy to have an own car to explore the beautiful surroundings here. Now and then we can also share a ride if our schedules and plans match :).
Apart from that there are manifold learning possibilities here in terms of languages, gardening, construction of an old Stones house and living with kids.

    Help

We are looking for someone to happily share our everyday life and mainly give us a hand with gardening and with tiny tasks related to construction. As we have two kids, it is important that you have a big heart for kids and enjoy having them around and maybe also like to spend now and then some time with them. If you are interested in building and construction with natural materials, we are happy to show and share practical knowledge also along the process of working together on the house.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

As accommodation we have a nice fire engine with bed and kitchenette where you can sleep and have your own nest. You are welcome to share our shower and compost toilet. In the future there will be both installed next to the accommodation. We provide food for breakfast and for the lunch time, 5 days a week. Other mealtimes will be organized and payed independently. Close to our place there is a spring where you can get fresh drinkable water for free.
Unfortunately we don't have space at the moment for campervan or caravan. We can't host animals because of our kids, cat, unfenced garden and a lot of other neighbour animals.

    What else ...

In your freetime you can go to the nearby beaches such as Morouzos, Espasante or Esteiro beach. There are several other beaches within 5 to 20 min drive. Ortigueira is always worth a trip on Thursday when there's market's day. At the Rio Sor, which is more inland, you can visit waterfalls, old water mills and ruins alongside the river. If you feel comfortable at ours, which we hope, you can also relax here at ours in the hammock or go for nice walks into the woods.
We usually drive to Ortigueira on weekdays and could give you a ride if you want to do some shopping for example. I personally think though that having a car here makes it double fun staying here. There is not really a bicycle culture here, roads are very curvey and narrow, and distances tend to be long.
