Description
Our beautiful 15 acre property is located 40 minutes south of Hobart in the Huon Valley. We have a cosy caravan for workawayers to sleep in. If you have your own car, getting here is easier. There may be times we can help with transport.
We welcome workaway guests to hang out in our small rustic cabin and use the bathroom, shower and fully equipped kitchen.
The Huon Valley is famous for food, wine and cider production. It is a beautiful part of Tasmania, well worth exploring!
We need help on our large property to manage weeds, do general landscaping, wood chopping and general building maintenance. Our property attracts an abundance of native wildlife including wallabies, bandicoots, potoroos, tassie devils and a diverse range of birds. We have a beautiful flowing creek for swimming in and relaxing near.
We really enjoy meeting people, playing music, gardening, bushwalking, hitting the beach, camping and sharing meals with friends. We have 3 children aged 6, 12 and 15 and a dog called Astro. We are a non-smoking, no drugs household. We eat primarily vegetarian meals.
We ask that you work for 4 hours per day and in exchange we will feed you 3 meals per day and accomodation in the caravan.
We look forward to sharing time with you.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are qualified English teachers and so can provide you with help learning English if you would like. As we have lived in many parts of Australia (particularly in the NT) we can offer you advice on great places to visit. Our family life is full of noise and activity (as you can imagine with 3 boys!). We will welcome you to be involved in our family activities such as visiting friends, day trips to nice places etc.

We are looking for helpers to assist us around our property with tasks including weeding, mulching, planting, maintaining our native gardens, landscaping and getting some general home maintenance jobs done. We expect 4 hours of help per day of stay and in return we will provide 3 meals/day and caravan accomodation.
