Description
Hi, my name is Cindy. I grew up in South Africa and moved to the Netherlands in 2016. I have Italian citizenship to work and travel in the EU.
I've been an accountant most of my career. I love the language of numbers and the problem solving my work involves.
I'm happiest in nature and in the company of animals especially dogs, cats and horses. Also small groups of people for conversations about anything and everything that comes up.
Skills I've learnt through the year and would love to contribute to my Workaway host -
Plastering and painting walls, restoring furniture, restoring wooden floors and windows.
Outdoors - building fences, planting seed beds and chopping wood. And I've done a lot of house and pet sitting.
And lots of work with horses! Cleaning stables and paddocks, grooming and riding to keep horses active.
Honesty, integrity and being responsible are very important to me. I love the cultural learning from Workaway and the people I meet.
I don't do Workaways only for travel but because I love meeting hosts from around the world and seeing the country as a local. It's also a great way to have some tasks and a purpose rather than the whole day free.
I don't smoke, drink or take drugs. Always appreciative of the experiences I've had and the wonderful people I've met along the way through Workaway.

(Appreciate the countryside on ...)
The location is peaceful and quiet with some lovely walks in nature nearby. The farm has changed so now there are a few cows, some chickens and a very sweet duck!
I did cleaning in the house and made a hanging planter for strawberries. Penny and Stephan were very welcoming and made me feel at home.

My workaway felt almost too good to be true.
The location at the top of the mountains in Trento is unbelievable. There are views all around the guesthouse of the surrounding mountains and even Lake Garda. It's on many cycling and hiking routes so there is always somewhere to explore or lots of space to relax at the guesthouse.

We loved it to have Cindy at our place! She was very easy going and gave us enough family time. She worked a lot in the garden and painted some walls inside the house. It all looked great!

Cindy was a pleasure to have around the house. She was bright and upbeat and extremely easy to be around.
Cindy worked with Jeff in the main part in the garden and tending the interminable woodpile!
She also helped with household stuff and helped Jeff with some decoration.
A pleasure to have her here and she would be welcome again anytime!

Cindy stayed with us for two weeks and was an amazing house guest/workawayer/person to have around. She is an incredible hard worker, so you need to make sure she does stop after her 5 hours!

Cindy was only with us for a week (and the weather was terrible!) but she managed to get lots of work done in this short period. Always cheerful and proactive, I can recommend Cindy to future hosts. Best of luck with the new job!

Staying at Sarah & James place was a wonderful experience. From the beginning I felt welcomed & Sarah let me help with the horses. Starting the day in the paddocks with all the horses was magical. The dogs are all wonderful, happy creatures who often made me laugh at their antics.

This is a beautiful hostel in a great city. I had so much free time to explore in between duties, in Delft & the beautiful surroundings, but the hostel is also the perfect location to easily get to Amsterdam, Rotterdam & Den Haag.
