Travelling
Description
I'm Emma from London and started travelling in June 2022 in Europe and Latin America until July 2023. Now I am looking for rewilding, ecological or permaculture projects. I'd love to be in an environment that values a deep connection to nature and I hope to connect with others who feel they are also as much a part of nature as I do. Of course I am not perfect but I care deeply and want to be around others who try their best to live in harmony with earth and eachother.
I hope to contribute to projects working with the land, community and outdoor education. I'll go wherever there's birds, insects and compost toilets and I hope to learn more sustainable or off grid ways of living. I've always got ideas about ways to improve sustainability and biodiversity wherever I go!
During past travels I enjoyed learning from different cultures, practicing and improving my Spanish and trying to learn other languages, eating/cooking new food, getting to know people and spending my free time hiking and swimming in waterfalls. I love living with just my backpack, not needing much and keeping things simple.
I am vegetarian and love trying new recipes.
I practice qigong and meditation regularly, and yoga on and off so would be very happy to get involved in those practices. I sometimes go to sound healing and plant medicine ceremonies and love learning about medicinal plants and foraging.
Connecting with others is important to me, whether playing games, deep conversations, singing, dancing, activities together and sharing around a fire.
I'm friendly, honest and learning more about myself each moment! I hope to meet you on my journey :)Interests

During my travels I have done several workaways at eco projects using skills for gardening, cleaning, DIY, general maintenance, animal care, hospitality including retreats, tourism (tour guide assisting and translation) and cooking. I'm organised, with an eye to detail, responsible and flexible. I have worked in various climates and environments and am adaptable (but prefer to work very early out of main sun/heat hours)
I completed a Permaculture Design Course in Portugal and took another permaculture course on food forests and soil regeneration in Colombia. I started the gardening RHS level 2 theory course and a 20 hour gardening with nature course. So I am hoping to put into practice the principles I have been learning and expand my experience and learning in this area, there is always more to learn!
Several years ago I completed a 3 month sustainable agriculture fellowship in the USA working on the farm learning about food preservation, animal husbandry, organic farming methods, permaculture, ecology and social justice.
Then I started my previous job in the environmental sector involving environmental protection, regulation, water pollution and waste management. There was a big variety of skills needed in this role especially working customer facing and at pollution incidents.
Before that I worked with children in a school as a learning support assistant, relying on patience, creativity and understanding.
I am a qualified open water swimming coach.
At home I have spent several years volunteering with environmental charities in different roles mainly practical conservation, sustainable food growing and outdoor education. Most recently (inbeteeen travelling) ive been doing farm work with an agroecological charity.
Spending time outside in nature is very important to me. I grow my own food at home and love gardening.Age
