  • Description

So, where to start ? (I actually find it quite complicated to write about myself in a description haha)

I was born in France but I lived the majority of my life in west Africa (Cameroun, Maroc, Mali and Ivory Coast) due to my Dad's work as a civil engineer. Moving each 3 or 4 years in such a continent has allowed me to become very open-minded and keen on discovering new cultures (I am especially interested by local dishes and legends !).

I am now a student in Chemistry (nooo don't go away hahah, chemistry is cool !) and I love to learn and to share about science and its applications. I have lived in Lausanne since 2019 which is located in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The city is right next to the "Lac Léman" (or "Lac de Genève") on which I have been learning how to row since February 2022. I really enjoy practicing this sport as it allows me to forget about everything ! Whenever I can't row, I either run outside along the lac or do yoga.

I am also part of several student's associations in my college such as "Coaching" which goal is to welcome the 2000 new first year students that arrive in Lausanne each year by organizing events like hikes in the mountains, music concerts or studying sessions ! I am really easy-going and I love to go talk to other people and to make them feel comfortable.

But my biggest passion is to travel as I feel like there are so much to learn and to discover on earth ! And this platform seems to be the best way to live my own adventures !

So one day I decided to make a special gift for a friend for Christmas. This means that instead of going to the "presents" shop and buy something as usual I wanted to actually produce it (with my own hands !).

As she was missing something to store her jewelry I was thinking about crafting her a small box in wood (with hinges) painted in her favorite color. It was really ambitious because at this time I had never tinkered with any objects and I could have counted on one hand how many times I had used a screwdriver. But despite my tremendous lack of skill in this domain, I did all my best to make her the best jewelry box ever and the result was actually not that bad ! (excepting for the fact that the box was way too big and that it couldn't close properly haha). But I was so proud of myself ! So the point of this little story is that I find myself to be really good at leaving my comfort zone and learning new stuff ! Since then, I have built other objects in wood and in aluminium mainly by using a software called Fusion 360 and a cutter laser (there are some pictures in my photos if you're interested !).

I also really like to share the knowledge I discover ! I participated several times at the Science Week-end of my college where kids, teenagers and adults from every horizons can learn facts about physic and chemistry from students. I really love to show them wonderful experiments and to explain the concepts behind them !

Moreover, it has been almost 2 years since I have moved to a flat where I had met two other persons and I don't regret it at all. We love to share our meal together and to cook for the coloc (I have mastered the art of making cookies !).
