Description
Hi! My name is Marina and I'm from Slovakia and the United States. After graduating high school I decided to take a gap year (or more, nobody knows) to travel, voluteer and work. My path led me to places such as Tanzania, Africa where I spent 6 months voluneering and I spent a summer working in Alaska. My favorite place to be is outdoors, connecting with nature. I love anything that pumps up my adrenalin and makes me step out of my comfort zone- hiking, rafting, swimming in rivers and waterfalls.
Meeting people from all walks of life is my favorite part about traveling. I believe we grow through forming connections and impacting each other in some ways. Brightening someone's day brightens my day!
Even though I enjoy traveling to places as short trips, I prefer to stay in places for at least a few weeks/months, I like to take my time to get to know a place better and become a part of the community.Interests

My love for children and organizing grew stronger through teaching English and being a coordinator at an English camp. I taught children at a local langauge school in Slovakia and worked as a coordinator and entertainer at summer English camps. Outside of the classroom I am a very outdoors and animal loving person. Through volunteering with a vet at an agrovet organization in Tanzania I discovered a passion for working with animals. I have experience in treating both domestic and farm animals. Beside vet services the organization focused on sustainable agriculture and I would love to gain more experience in "growing my own". Up in Alaska I worked as a server and learned a lot about restaurant life and customer service. I came out of my shell and realized I not only love animals but I also enjoyed working with people! Besides kitchen duties I helped out with maintenance of a state park, where I spent my days doing landscaping and cleaning. Other than that I am excited to learn any new skills!
