Description
Hello! We're Andrea, Millaray, Iker, and Lalo. After living in different places, we decided to make our home in Patagonia, in a spot called El Fraile, just 20 km from Coyhaique.
We live on a plot surrounded by native trees, at the foot of a small mountain range known as Cordón Divisadero, and very close to a waterfall. The area is perfect for hiking, biking, and skiing during the winter season.
We have a vibrant family of animals: three dogs (Chapati, Rimaya, and Nanga Parbat), three cats (Micaela, Tarro, and Pacho), and a chicken coop with five hens and one rooster.

Hola somos Andrea, Millaray, Iker y Lalo, una familia que después de vivir en diferentes lugares decidimos vivir en Patagonia a 20 km de Coyhaique, en un lugar llamado el Fraile.
Vivimos en una parcela rodeada de árboles nativos, a los pies de una pequeña cordillera llamada cordón divisadero y muy cerca una cascada. Es posible realizar caminatas por el sector, bicicleta y esquí en temporada de invierno.
Tenemos tres perros Chapati, Rimaya y Nanga Parbat, tres gatos Micaela, Tarro y Pacho, y un gallinero con 5 gallinas y 1 gallo.

Accommodation
We have a tiny house with a bed for a couple, it has a shower with hot water and kitchen.
The energy is limited since it is from solar panels, but it is possible to charge small electronic equipment.
We ask that you keep the place clean and tidy.

What else ...
We work in Coyhaique from Monday to Friday. Since we are away from home for most of the day, our children attend school and kindergarten. Currently, we focus on caring for our kids, Millaray (5) and Iker (3), which means our time for working on the land is limited, and we need help with seasonal tasks.
🍽️ Food and Accommodation
We ask volunteers to prepare their own meals using all the ingredients we provide. We also ask for help with maintaining the order and cleanliness of the tiny house where you will be staying.
🚌 Local Transportation
Public transportation is scarce; the bus only passes twice a day, 3 km from our house. However, hitchhiking is common in the area.
⛰️ Area Highlights
Seven kilometers away, there is a small ski resort that operates as a bikepark during the summer. The surroundings are ideal for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.
🛠️ SEASON 2025-2026 UPDATE
We always try to maximize our work efforts during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons; during winter, the amount of work is quite restricted.
For this season, we are looking for volunteers with experience in field work, carpentry, and construction.
📋 Tasks to be Performed:
- Repairs in the vegetable garden
- Forest cleaning and branch collection
- Minor construction, carpentry, and painting work
- Pet care (3 dogs, 3 cats, and our chickens)
- Childcare
-Cooking (We appreciate you cooking your own meals and leaving portions for us when we arrive home late)
-Organizing the workshop and storage areas
Firewood collection (cutting and stacking in the woodshed)

Trabajamos en Coyhaique de lunes a viernes. Como estamos fuera de casa la mayor parte del día, nuestros hijos asisten a la escuela y al jardín infantil. Actualmente, nos centramos en el cuidado de nuestros hijos, Millaray (5) e Iker (3), lo que significa que nuestro tiempo para trabajar en el campo es limitado y necesitamos ayuda con las tareas de temporada.
🍽️ Comida y alojamiento
Solicitamos a los voluntarios que preparen sus propias comidas con todos los ingredientes que proporcionamos. También solicitamos ayuda para mantener el orden y la limpieza de la tiny house donde se alojarán.
🚌 Transporte local
El transporte público es escaso; el autobús solo pasa dos veces al día a 3 km de nuestra casa. Sin embargo, es común hacer autostop en la zona.
⛰️ Aspectos destacados de la zona
A siete kilómetros, hay un pequeño centro de esquí que funciona como bikepark durante el verano. Los alrededores son ideales para practicar senderismo, trail running y ciclismo de montaña.

Siempre intentamos maximizar nuestro esfuerzo laboral durante la primavera, el verano y el otoño; durante el invierno, la cantidad de trabajo es bastante limitada.
Para esta temporada, buscamos voluntarios con experiencia en trabajo de campo, carpintería y construcción.

- Limpieza forestal y recogida de ramas
- Pequeños trabajos de construcción, carpintería y pintura
- Cuidado de mascotas (3 perros, 3 gatos y nuestras gallinas)
- Cuidado de niños
- Cocina (Agradecemos que cocinen sus propias comidas y nos dejen porciones cuando lleguemos tarde a casa)
- Organización del taller y las áreas de almacenamiento
- Recogida de leña (cortar y apilar en la leñera)
