Xenia (Nia) was so great to have here. She was always running around with a smile on her face even when shoveling animal manure. lol. She truly took all the lessons I could teach her plus all the beauty of our area. If she wasn’t working on the farm or at our beach, she was driving her little moped to the nearest new beach or mountain to explore. She seemed to love everything Hawai’i and the west side had to offer. Her work ethic was awesome. I never had to worry about her starting on time or focusing during the allotted times. She had read our profile well so she was prepared and excited about it all. Very easy to get along with! I’d host her again anytime and she’s very very missed already. Grateful for social media so we can follow in her world travels. Mahalo Nia!

Mica is a great person with a great heart. She has been very helpful with the best attitude, not only she has helped with the farm but also she was open to listen and contribute with great ideas. We have been really happy to have her and we know that she will be a great addition to any other place. Wish you all the very best.

Marisol and Jonathon picked me up from the bus station, and right away it felt like friends were meeting me. They are welcoming, funny and kind from the beginning! Housing- you will have your own room with ensuite bathroom. Very private. The house is yours to use- the kitchen, living room. Wifi is great connection. They have a wall projector for cosy movie nights. Chores- you will go to the farm early in the morning. Depends on the day but you will always help water the beds, weeding, sowing and planting seeds, cuddling with baby goats, and gathering herbs for the farmer's market stall. At home, you will help feed and walk the three dogs, and take care of chicks. Food- the hosts make breakfast for you, lunch will be made together after chores, and dinner you can use the food in fridge. Overall, I will definitely visit M and J again. They became family and shared my warped sense of humour. The work is not too much and you learn so many skills- like milking goats, and how to clean chicken eggs properly. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. So many memories and inside jokes! Miss you all already- especially Nana- the senior dog who loves her walks.

My partner and I stayed for just over 2 weeks and we loved it! Yvette was super accommodating and welcoming! Kitty and Eva were super easy to look after and we loved the walking trail right by Yvette's house! Super location with such a nice yard to sit and enjoy the sun and views!! Highly recommend Yvette as a host and if we ever come back to Sooke will definitely be messaging her again! Thanks again Caitlyn and Tony

I stayed with Keith for two months (mar-may). I only have positive things to say about my stay. From the beginning Keith was very nice and welcoming, I really appreciated that. Keith took me to several places all along the Island, karta river wildernis and memorial beach for example. The nature here is amazing, felt like living in a documentary! Wildlife is all around; I saw orcas, whales, seals, sea lions, blad eagles, humpback whales, minks, otters and deer to name some of them, I did not see ant bears or wolves but I heard that they were seen closeby. we caught many crab and shrimp, they were amazing and it was really nice to eat from the backyard so to say. On clear nights you can sometimes see the northern lights and they were amazing, super cool to experience. The work was not overbearing at all, wood splitting was so much fun. I had an incredible time with Keith and Taya, Keith wife, whom I was fortunate enough to meet in my stay, she was always so nice to me. I have made so many lifetime memories in Alaska, and all thanks to keith and taya. I met wonderful people and everyone was welcoming and always had interesting stories to tell.

These guys were so awesome. Lovely English couple and we had lots of laughs during the few weeks they were with us. Super efficient too! Ciara helped in the house and a lot with social media and my goodness she was at least twice as fast as me if not faster. Ben helped us massively outside with steps to our front door, edging and garden borders and had great ideas to reuse items we already had lying around. Very kind couple and we appreciated the help ever so much. Wishing you a fantastic time in Australia :)

Rufus stayed with me for nearly 2 weeks and was a fantastic help and great company. He is a motivated diligent and detailed worker and does any task to great ability he sets put to do. We all enjoyed his great sense of humor and easy going manner..my other workaways were very sad when he left! I highly recommend him for any job becauae i know he will succeed at whatever he puts his mind to and i am happy to be a reference for him!

Thandi was a delight to host, super-helpful and always willing to turn her hand to any task - be it painting, gardening, cleaning, childcare, pet care... we felt we could trust Thandi to get on with whatever task as in front of her, and if she didn't understand something or needed assistance she wasn't shy to ask. So refreshing! She was also wonderfully patient and kind-hearted with our two kids, with a creative, positive energy that resonated with us all. We thoroughly enjoyed the intelligent conversations and diverse perspectives she brought, and will miss her kind, creative vibe!

This was my first Workaway experience. And from the start to the finish, I was welcomed and met with plenty of kindness. I am very grateful to Mr. Dadang and his family who made sure I felt at home. Working with the school children was absolutely incredible. Not only was I able to help support with English, but I also learned some Indonesian language, culture and traditions. Thank you to Mr. Dadang, his family and to the school kids for such an unforgettable experience!

ENGLISH Shannon and Jeremy were excellent volunteers, they are the perfect balance of giving you love and giving the space atmosphere and order. They were always ready to support and it was not necessary to manage their activities because they both learned very quickly and flowed very well with the activities, in general they are very proactive people, as well as responsible and organized. They have a lot of experience and skills, helping all the staff members, they were always attentive to what we needed and were very cooperative. They really liked connecting with the guests, plus they always had the music and coffee ready :') We highly recommend Shannon & Jeremy, we loved having them here, they were very easy to chat with because of the trust we built with them. We are very grateful for all the support and love they gave us and very happy that they felt it back by creating a family with us. We wish them lots of love and fun on their upcoming travels and we hope to see them soon! Dear Chris, I apologise for the delay in writing this comment. I stayed there for about two weeks. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. First and foremost, Chris and his sons were extremely kind, and we always shared beautiful moments together. There were also other workers who were great, and the communication with them was excellent. The place was magical, beautiful, and peaceful, allowing you to breathe nature in all its glory. This was my first farmstay experience and I really enjoyed myself. Fabrizio and Sebas taught me a lot about how to run a farm. I learned about animals, crops, gaining even more appreciation for the land and community. It was lovely meeting different Workawayers, I made some fun memories. Venecia is a charming small town, I will miss the energy and amazing views. Thank you for having me ☺️

my experience here was just amazing, I've stayed a month with this marvelous team and volunteers in this incredible wonderland forest, I loved to share life in such a place. love you all, Fadel, Solange, Anaelena, Estel (hopefully recover soon.), Lucas and Mireya and us rest of volunteers. hope seeing you soon again

Lisanne is such a fun and outgoing person, she makes people laugh and feel comfortable and loved. It was such a pleasure to talk to her, hang out, and experience life together for a bit. We hope you come back! :) You are missed.

Nico & Johanna are cool and kindhearted people. I really enjoyed the time spent with them along the house tasks we tackled in a good team spirit. The tranquility in Auzas, beautiful nature, surrounded by nice people in the nearby villages, good company by Nico and Johanna made the stay really engaging and fun! We had long conversations, travel stories, played pétanque and lot of laughter during the stay. I can only wish them all the best with the remaining project and hope to see their paradise in its glory some time in the near future! Untill then, Hugs!

I spent 3 weeks here (one week longer than I had planned). I was very comfortable and the family was very good to me at all the time. My work consisted mostly of gardening and blackberrys. I used to work from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The house has many places to work and read, which I needed. The place is super beautiful, even with a river! The food is also very good. I'm very grateful that in my free time they let me have the car to explore the area, even for the entire weekend, where I was able to go to more remote areas. Thank you very much for everything!

Caitlyn and Tony did pet sitting and yard work for me while I was on vacation. They were wonderful guests and great workers. My dog Eva took to them immediately and I was able to be away with full confidence that things were taken care of. When I returned my home was in better shape than when I left! Thanks Caitlyn and Tony!

Aleah was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to have here! What a great person, what a great help. I loved having her here and would welcome her back any time all the time. :)

We are super grateful to have had Alejandro join us in the desert! We were all learning as we went & Alejandro was able to jump right in & quickly pick up on any task he worked on. (His plaster skills were quite impressive after a few days!) We were working in quite warm weather (many days near 100) & not once was there any complaining or sluggish energy. He gave his all each & every day & if it was not for him, we most definitely would not have completed what we did! We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming him back to the property, and we will forever have a getaway in our domes! Thank you Alejandro! Hope to finish them up & have you back soon : )

This was my first Workaway experience and it easily exceeded my expectations! From the minute I entered Karen’s home, I felt very welcome and I learned so much in just one week! As a volunteer, you will get the opportunity to get to know some great local people, from the students in the school to the family and friends of Karen. In weekends, you will be able to visit some cool places that are just a short (and beautiful) drive away. The accommodation also has everything you need and the meals are super nice! I cannot recommend enough what a pleasure it was to stay with Karen and her family. All my love to Karen and the family, let me know whenever you’re in Belgium!
