jerry and lou: Our gratefulness for these two wonderful people is difficult to summarize with words. Due to various circumstances, we stayed with Lou and Jeremy for 5 months, doing garden and landscaping work with the occasional job around the house. They were extremely welcoming from the start, making us feel at home and introducing us to their lovely friends, taking us along to activities, etc. They are also simply amazing individuals, very caring, always down for tunes around the house and a chilling sesh on the verandah. We worked on projects together and had regular, efficient talks about everyone's expectations and wellbeing. We're happy and grateful to have been on a roomies- more than a workawayer-basis by the end of it. Anyone staying with them for the littlest amount of time is lucky as!

We spent 2.5 weeks with Alison and not a minute of it did we spend bored or hungry! Delicious vegan meals, fabulous people and beautiful landscapes are awaiting you if you accept them and what a lovely companion you'll have to guide you. We worked in Alison's air bnbs, cleaning and gardening, but hear she has a job for everyone depending on the individual! She is super generous and Mackay is very beautiful. The working hours to leisure time ratio is perfect, and it was so refreshing to not have to think of a detailed itinerary ourselves. She had plenty of awesome activities and sight seeings in store for us whenever we were up for it. That said, we also had time to ourselves. You can't go wrong with this one! Rebby&Jojo

it was my first volunteering experience and it was great, the place is just amazing to disconnect from everything. be prepared that the site has intermittent internet and electricity, bring food that will not go bad soon. Otherwise it is excellent I would like to come back someday and see the result of the project that is in process, I wish you the best of luck.

Amazing person, amazing volunteer! It was super nice to have Joseph with us for around a month. He got involved with different sides of our project and often had great ideas on the table to share. He’s also very enthusiastic about nature and wildlife and a great wildlife photographer with vast detailed knowledge about many creatures of Corcovado and Dos Brazos. Very kind, respectful, hard working and very fun at the same time. We will surely miss you and you’re always welcome at El Templo. Thank you so much for all your energy and hard work. Simone and I had an amazing time here! It's a wonderful place that offers so much to its visitors. Brian, Karen, Matt and Sierra are wonderful hosts that truely care about the people who come to their little slice of paradise. We found ourselves becoming very attached to the place as the weeks went on and tried our very best to help out where we could. Definitely one of highlights of our time in Canada. If you want to get away from the cities and crowds and enjoy some of the simpler things in life, I definitely recommend going here. You won't regret it! I hope to return there one day and see the resort in full operation. Thanks again guys, all the best with the rebuild!

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed into Daisy's home and immediately felt like part of the family. The accommodations provided were top-notch, exceeding my expectations. Not only was the living space comfortable and well-maintained, but Daisy and her family went above and beyond to ensure that I felt right at home. Family dinners, movie nights, and participation in their family activities made me feel included and appreciated. What truly set this Workaway experience apart was the sense of camaraderie and collaboration. We tackled numerous projects together, both completing unfinished tasks and laying the groundwork for future endeavors. Daisy's enthusiasm and dedication were contagious, making each day fulfilling and productive. Moreover, the opportunity to immerse myself in Daisy's family life and participate in their traditions was invaluable. It provided me with a deeper understanding of the local culture and enriched my overall experience. In addition to the meaningful work we accomplished, the friendships I formed during my time with Daisy and her family are priceless. The connections made and the memories shared will undoubtedly endure long after my departure. Thank you, Daisy, for your hospitality, warmth, and the unforgettable memories created together.

Georgie is a superstar! She joined us for 2 months at the end of the season and she fitted in right away. She was a great team member, always on hand to help out with whatever we threw at her :) She is a great communicator, and really flexible and willing to get involved in any and all projects. She even did some calligraphy signage for us, and they look fab! She will always be welcome back here in Mui Ne, anytime. You will be lucky to have her!!

What an amazing family to have been apart of for the past month! We stayed with Eugene and Charlene for a month and it was such a blast! We started with some light work in the greenhouse to some more outside weeding during our first week and to some other smaller individual jobs that didnt last 4 hours on a single task which we my partner and I found very refreshing! Eugene has some really great knowledge with all veggies, fruits and plants that he has and loves sharing it all if you care to ask, Charlene is an awesome cook! We have been introduced to many new dishes we have not tried yet, including home made sushi that she helped us to make! There is also Jordan and Nick who live with their partners too on the land thar are also some amazing people! Had the chance to play chess with Jordan who totally didnt take advantage of me being sick to beat me lol We also work with Jordan for a day helping set up the irrigation system for his garden which was a fun task! All in all I would highly consider applying for Eugene and Charlene when they'll be needing help again, they stay less than an hour drive away from either Nanaimo or Victoria! We were their first Workaways and they did an amazing job accommodating us! Bonus! Eugene grows his own fruits in his greenhoand outside garden and shares the pruduce with the workaways if they want some! Machael & Emilie

Xenia (Nia) was so great to have here. She was always running around with a smile on her face even when shoveling animal manure. lol. She truly took all the lessons I could teach her plus all the beauty of our area. If she wasn’t working on the farm or at our beach, she was driving her little moped to the nearest new beach or mountain to explore. She seemed to love everything Hawai’i and the west side had to offer. Her work ethic was awesome. I never had to worry about her starting on time or focusing during the allotted times. She had read our profile well so she was prepared and excited about it all. Very easy to get along with! I’d host her again anytime and she’s very very missed already. Grateful for social media so we can follow in her world travels. Mahalo Nia!

We spent 2 weeks with Liz for our first workaway experience and it was the most amazing experience we could've had! She provided a beautiful, detailed handbook covering everything we needed to know, including introducing all her wonderful dogs! The whole experience was amazing, from the location of her property, the overall experience, the people, the dogs, all the clear instructions and the flexibility. We loved bonding with Liz and all the dogs. She knew so much about her dogs and raising puppies, and always had a story to tell about them! We really appreciated all the lessons we learned about life with dogs and will surely come in handy one day when we get a dog. We really feel like we were there as friends lending a hand and cannot express the gratitude we feel for how much time Liz spent talking to us about everything. We couldn't imagine a better work away host and entire experience. It really blew away our expectations and would recommend Liz to anyone looking for a workaway in New Zealand! It was really hard to leave at the end of our stay and we would love to come back! Thanks Liz!

We got a chance to meet this incredible human at our farm, super talented and positive person. Set him free inside the kitchen, he will amaze you with the richest taste ever. Always happy and ready for every jobs. Super recommended!

Mica is a great person with a great heart. She has been very helpful with the best attitude, not only she has helped with the farm but also she was open to listen and contribute with great ideas. We have been really happy to have her and we know that she will be a great addition to any other place. Wish you all the very best.

Marisol and Jonathon picked me up from the bus station, and right away it felt like friends were meeting me. They are welcoming, funny and kind from the beginning! Housing- you will have your own room with ensuite bathroom. Very private. The house is yours to use- the kitchen, living room. Wifi is great connection. They have a wall projector for cosy movie nights. Chores- you will go to the farm early in the morning. Depends on the day but you will always help water the beds, weeding, sowing and planting seeds, cuddling with baby goats, and gathering herbs for the farmer's market stall. At home, you will help feed and walk the three dogs, and take care of chicks. Food- the hosts make breakfast for you, lunch will be made together after chores, and dinner you can use the food in fridge. Overall, I will definitely visit M and J again. They became family and shared my warped sense of humour. The work is not too much and you learn so many skills- like milking goats, and how to clean chicken eggs properly. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. So many memories and inside jokes! Miss you all already- especially Nana- the senior dog who loves her walks.

My partner and I stayed for just over 2 weeks and we loved it! Yvette was super accommodating and welcoming! Kitty and Eva were super easy to look after and we loved the walking trail right by Yvette's house! Super location with such a nice yard to sit and enjoy the sun and views!! Highly recommend Yvette as a host and if we ever come back to Sooke will definitely be messaging her again! Thanks again Caitlyn and Tony

I stayed with Keith for two months (mar-may). I only have positive things to say about my stay. From the beginning Keith was very nice and welcoming, I really appreciated that. Keith took me to several places all along the Island, karta river wildernis and memorial beach for example. The nature here is amazing, felt like living in a documentary! Wildlife is all around; I saw orcas, whales, seals, sea lions, blad eagles, humpback whales, minks, otters and deer to name some of them, I did not see ant bears or wolves but I heard that they were seen closeby. we caught many crab and shrimp, they were amazing and it was really nice to eat from the backyard so to say. On clear nights you can sometimes see the northern lights and they were amazing, super cool to experience. The work was not overbearing at all, wood splitting was so much fun. I had an incredible time with Keith and Taya, Keith wife, whom I was fortunate enough to meet in my stay, she was always so nice to me. I have made so many lifetime memories in Alaska, and all thanks to keith and taya. I met wonderful people and everyone was welcoming and always had interesting stories to tell.

These guys were so awesome. Lovely English couple and we had lots of laughs during the few weeks they were with us. Super efficient too! Ciara helped in the house and a lot with social media and my goodness she was at least twice as fast as me if not faster. Ben helped us massively outside with steps to our front door, edging and garden borders and had great ideas to reuse items we already had lying around. Very kind couple and we appreciated the help ever so much. Wishing you a fantastic time in Australia :)

Rufus stayed with me for nearly 2 weeks and was a fantastic help and great company. He is a motivated diligent and detailed worker and does any task to great ability he sets put to do. We all enjoyed his great sense of humor and easy going manner..my other workaways were very sad when he left! I highly recommend him for any job becauae i know he will succeed at whatever he puts his mind to and i am happy to be a reference for him!

Thandi was a delight to host, super-helpful and always willing to turn her hand to any task - be it painting, gardening, cleaning, childcare, pet care... we felt we could trust Thandi to get on with whatever task as in front of her, and if she didn't understand something or needed assistance she wasn't shy to ask. So refreshing! She was also wonderfully patient and kind-hearted with our two kids, with a creative, positive energy that resonated with us all. We thoroughly enjoyed the intelligent conversations and diverse perspectives she brought, and will miss her kind, creative vibe!
