Description
Mostly Gardening and household organizing and/or cleaning are our usual needs
We found each other at the age of twenty and have spent 50 years learning about life together and growing spiritually. We both have a great quick sense of humor. We have One acre/ about 1/2 hectare on the bayou that is always needing some care. We have about 17 types of fruit and nut trees and bushes that need care. We sometimes need some household maintenance. We are in the process of minimalizing and appreciate those that have good organizational skills and are good at minimalizing to help us with this.
We believe a 10 to 14 day exchange would be great help. If we find that everyone is getting along great we are open to extending the exchange as we always have unfinished mini projects. In our culture it is understood that whomever stays in the home is part of the community and they help out with meals and or clean up as needed.
We prefer more mature well travelled individuals that can enrich and inspire us with their experiences to add to our contribution of our living and travelling experiences in other cultures. We live in one of the most diverse cultural areas in the USA. Our home in in the heart of Cajun country rich with French culture food and music brought here in the 1760’s melded with the newly freed black culture that escaped slavery and came here from New Orleans around the same time. There is so much history because these two minority cultures have shared this area for over 250 years.
We host guests from all over the world. Linni speaks Spanish fluently and somewhat proficient in French. We both volunteer with immigrants and use SayHi APP to make friends from around the world. Linni was the first person in a year to communicate in Tamil with her now “adopted son” a refugee from Sri Lanka. So many stories.
We like to travel. Trent is a scientist/ massage therapist and I'm an artist/healer. We have a saltwater pool and kayaks for time off fun. Our home is an easy nice 1/2 mile/ 1km walk to our small downtown w restaurants, coffee shop, gift shops and thrift stores for off time. We are vegetarians and do not cook meat in our home. We have 1 cat that wanders in and out the house.

Breaux Bridge is in the heart of Cajun country where the French people came here and have kept their French culture including music food and dancing. We are about 2 hrs from New Orleans Louisiana and 20 minutes from Lafayette Louisiana. Saturday's there's a Zydeco breakfast then a Cajun music jam and several micro breweries some with live music. There is cajun and Zydeco music and jams just about every night.

It was a pleasure having Quinten stay with us as a workaway. We loved his enthusiasm always willing to engage in each project and learn new skills when needed. He is easy going and hard working both. Quinten and Trent worked as a team most of the time doing outdoor projects such as trimming our hedges about 300 ft worth, hauling… read more
