Description
Update January 2024
Dear Workaways,
After nearly two years sailing around the Atlantic and Caribbean, we are finally back in the South of France and already planning some home improvements.
We are looking for help with various projects such as painting shutters, gardening, redoing a bedroom or kitchen and other miscellaneous tasks. You will work guided by my talented husband who masters just about every skill there is and will no doubt learn much from him.
We are looking for two weeks at various times over the spring.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Best regards,
Suzi
Welcome to Grasse, in the Maritime Alps of France. Home to many celebrities, the French Riviera has much to offer in terms of gorgeous towns, spectacular scenery, sandy beaches and rocky mountains. We hope to find someone who could help my husband and me in the house as well as with various building projects around our properties, including painting, varnishing, some gardening, and other various tasks. I also require some housework - including cleaning, laundry, and ironing. My husband, skilled in all building and renovation techniques, is a semi-retired architect and will work with you most days, giving you instruction if necessary. You will have the opportunity learn a lot about building and renovation, and we can speak to you in French or English (I also speak German and Spanish.) You will have your own room and bathroom, and we will provide breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Working hours are usually 8:00 to 1:00 pm, but can evolve - so after lunch you are free to go and explore this beautiful region. I look forward to hearing from you, and wish you all the best!

Help
Dear Workaway adventurers,
We are a bilingual French-English family living in Grasse, in the beautiful French Riviera. I am Canadian, a jazz pianist and singer, and my husband is French, an architect. We are very open to other cultures and have already hosted many Workaways and previously, au-pairs (mainly when our children were younger.) We are now looking for someone who will help in the house (cleaning, laundry, ironing... twice per week) and also could help my husband with various building projects around our properties, including painting, varnishing, some gardening, and other various tasks. My husband is semi-retired and will work with you most days, giving you instruction if necessary. You will learn a lot about interior decoration and renovation, and we can speak to you in French or English (I also speak German, as well as some Italian and Spanish.) You will have your own room with a lovely view. We provide meals and are excellent cooks. I look forward to hearing from you, and wish you all the best!
Suzi

You will live in your own room with two twin beds (that can be pushed together for a couple) and own bathroom. It looks out onto a beautiful panoramic view, and is very peaceful and quiet.
What else ...
Grasse is well-known as the perfume capital of the world, so a first visit to the city and its perfumeries is not to be missed! You will no doubt love the sandy beaches in Cannes and Juan-les-Pins, the fortified old city of Antibes, beautiful Nice with its turquoise waters and pittoresque old town, and love exploring the various perched villages in Provence. The region has a wealth of cultural events and sights, museums, exhibitions, and hiking trails. If you are athletic, just about every sport is available here - from golf, horseback riding, cycling and hiking, to windsurfing, waterskiing, alpine skiing, tennis, and whatever else suits your fancy! :)
