Hi!
I'm Angus, from England. I love traveling and meeting new people. I'm hoping to learn new skills and find new hobbies while on my next adventure.
So far through workaway I have worked in a cafe/hostel where I made a range of food and drink items, plus cleaning duties. I also helped with carpentry/repair jobs, such as building doors, fixing a leaky roof and repairing chairs. Another workaway was a permaculture farm, where I helped clear jungle and terraform land, while living with just the bare necessities (tent, no electricity etc). I've also volunteered for a month at a dog sanctuary in Tzununa, Guatemala, and several months at a shelter in Urubamba, Peru, where I contributed to all aspects of dog care, from picking up dog poo and digging compost holes to vaccinating puppies against distemper. I'm comfortable using a range of electric, motor, and regular tools, plus I have a UK driving licence and can drive motorbikes and quads. I enjoy learning how to do new things!
My interests include gardening, cooking and reading. I enjoy the outdoors, going hiking, camping, skiing and basically anything else I can try!
I'm super keen to share my love of cooking with other people; I often make spicy curries, brownies and bread which I bring to work to share with customers and colleagues. So I'm always open to learn new recipes!
I'm always fascinated by the history and natural beauty of the places I visit and I've strived to experience as many wonderful new places as I can. I'm always excited to hear stories and recommendations from others about where to go and what to see and do!!Interests

Angus;
I've been employed one way or another since I was 13 years old and I've worked in a variety of different roles. I find a way to enjoy any work I do and I always work hard! I'm comfortable working as part of a team or alone, and I love the challenge of figuring out a new role. Here are some of the jobs I've had over the years:
Newspaper delivery
Convenience store clerk
Takeaway clerk
Bartender (Supervisor) (pubs and wedding venues)
Lumber yard worker
Army Reservist
Construction worker
Electrician Labourer
ESL Teacher (built and taught 3 year kindergarten curriculum)
Since using workaway I've helped with home renovation, learned some carpentry skills, worked in a cafe, helped at 2 dog sanctuaries, laboured on a permaculture farm, conducted general maintenance and cleaning at a beach hostel, helped on a goat farm, bartended and ran events for guests at a hostel and spent several months pet-sitting.Age

What else ...
I like to pass the time by playing cards and board games - always interested to learn new games to add to the list! I love good movies/documentaries, especially visually astounding/sci-fi genres that blow your mind. I like to book share and be introduced to new authors and literary genres.
I love to challenge myself and put myself out of my comfort zone. I'd like to explore this by living sustainably off grid, learning how to survive off the land and how to minimise my impact on the environment whilst still appreciating its beauty. Some more information

The dogs are the sweetest, best behaved, most lovable dogs I've had the pleasure of caring for in ages! Becky made the stay so easy for me - she told me how to get there (as Mompiche is quite remote) and even paid for a taxi to… read more
He has an exceptionally good and positive character backed up by actions.
As highlights we enjoyed his everyday pancakes ( his fondness to cook is no joke or metaphor) and his willingness to weed the vegetable garden, which his a very rare treat. Plus as a handy man he… read more

The work here is pretty chill. Emily is super busy all the time so having your own ideas of how to help is great. Other than… read more
The work is usually pretty simple - walking, feeding, and caring for the dogs, plus cleaning the sanctuary and general maintenance. There were times when we were just dogsitting while Aaron ran… read more
