Join the team to build and grow our Finca into a sustainability Institute with organic agriculture and sustainable living.
Vision:
We want to build a green oasis that will offer education in the sustainability field and explore alternative living Ideas & concepts. We are implementing & building a Finca & educational space with the holistic permaculture concept in mind. Our main goal is to do our part for a more sustainable way of doing things and showing how to not only sustain our planet but also individuals.
We are far from a final state in all regards but thriving towards that goal and are currently building the foundations and infrastructure trying to implement more and more sustainable materials & processes along the way.
Who:
Who are we? David, Frank & Patrick - At the Finca David and Patrick are running the show and will be working and especially organizing alongside you :)
We are not experts in every field but have a broad knowledge base in building different things and agriculture.
-David is native from tenerife and has been traveling around the world and lived as a volunteer as well, now offering and experiencing the other side as a host.
-Patrick grew up in Germany, where he worked in a startup and joined in November 2022 to bring this project to the next level.
-Frank is working in Germany at the climate, environment & energy institute of Wuppertal and making his PHD in holistic concepts of renewable energy and lending us his expertise part time.
There is of course more to learn about us - but for that we need to meet at the Finca :)
Finca:
Our finca is part of Puerto de la Cruz and 20 min. walking distance from the beach and 25 min. walking into town. We are surrounded by green and banana plantations and have great sea views. It is a very good combination of nature and peace around us while at the same time still being close to civilization :).
The Finca has around 6000m² of space.
We have:
-a big outdoor Kitchen where everyone can cook.
-composting toilets in an extra shed outside and reuse everything from "there" for our compost
-an extra shower room that includes hot water
-a Fridge and a space for everyone in it
-food boxes for your private food
-powerrack for training
-a place to relax in hammocks or in a sun lounger
-a big garden with lots of organic veggies
-3 Cats & one Dog
-good workshop
- Solar power
-a BBQ to make Pizza, cakes or bbq
-Yoga mats & Surfboards for you to borrow
How are we organized?:
We work from Mo-Fr from 9:00-14:00 with a break from 11:00-11:30. After work (on working days) we have lunch together that is cooked by a volunteer. The Lunch will be vegetarian and will be mostly from the foods(veggies we grow ourselves in the garden. We supplement it with dry foods like pasta, rice, lentils or so.
When you stay with us you can always eat everything we grow in the garden (when it is ready of course :)) and we also provide dry foods for everyone so that you can grow your creative coocking mind :D (rice, pasta, lentils, couscous, Oil...).
Stay:
We have found out that a stay of 2 month or longer works best for us and for you :). We may be flexibel but only with very compelling reasons (such as you are perfect for on typ of job/help or we know you already).
We are looking forward to get to know you :)Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Puerto de la Cruz is a real city with real life and not only tourists ,we will do our best to make you feel part of it and enable you to experience the Island from a more local perspective.
You will join a bigger community of volunteers here at the finca as we try to aim to be around 10 to 15 people which means that you will be able to make friends from all over the world (mainly europe) and learn different perspectives as well as join up with them to explore the island or the finca :D
Our goal is always to combine your wishes, your skills and the project priorities as best as possible (Sometimes easy sometimes hard :D). Our goal is to get closer to our vision and that you can take away something practical, meaningful or interesting.
It of course depends also on you how much you want to engage and learn from your stay here but i am confident to say that everyone learns something while staying at the Finca with basically no limit on the learning possibilities.Arbeit
to give you an Idea:
Gardening (everything connected) - planting, weeding, compost, redesign, maintenance
Renovating an old Canarian house - building, woodwork, concrete
Building Strucutres (greeenhouse, Firepit, Outdoor kitchen and everything that is connected to that
Improving infrastructure
Improving Water usage
reporpouse wood (processing pallets)
Help:
We try to categorise 3 catergories of help:
--Porjects --> People who can help us and plan and execute a porject (including documentation of it :))
--Responsabilitys (Cook, Garden maintenance, Cleaning, Social Meida, Garden avisionado and so on :D some of these may have a different scedule from the above (same hours) - details will be in the task describtion.
--Jumper/helper: Less skilled tash that change more frequently (help in the garden, moving earth, stones, taking pallets a part, painting --> helping where needed)
After you send me the first message i will send you a link with our projects/Responsibailitys/ Jumper task in more detail so that we can narrow it down further :)
in general: Do not hesitate and contact us with how you think you could contribute :) We are always in need of creative and critical thinking minds and people with drive.
We are always in help of craftspeople or people that know how to work with or in: wood, construction, Gardening, permaculture, plumbing, landscaping, Water, you name it :D
We may also need help from artisitic or more spiritual inclided people - do not hestiate to contact us :)

You will sleep in rooms of the old traditional canarian house or in one of our two big glamping Tents. The rooms are shared (mixed genders), usually with 3 people in one room (usually two in the Tents).
You will have your own Bed (some made out of pallets) with Bedding (Mattress, Blanquet, pillow and covers)
The finca is still at the beginning as we are building it up which means that it is rustic and basic. Even Though we are close to town, this is the countryside so please be aware of basic and rustic conditions. The house is totally livable but as described above will be renovated in the future so expect an old Building with rough edges but with a lot of personality.
You can also bring your own tent or come with your camper. Was noch ...
