I stayed at this place for one month and it was a great experience. The most amazing things about the place are the stunning view and the silence. For the first time in my life i saw clouds on the water and one million stars in the night! Marie louise is a great, very caring and lovely host! You can buy whatever food you like and the tasks were nice, interesting and not too much or too hard. I also stayed one week in the house of marie louise and took care of her dog, while she was away. In the beginning i was a little scared, because i was not experienced with dogs, but we became friends fast. Being in that place also means that you need a car to get everywhere. After some time it can get lonely and too quiet and one can feel dependent. I had a great time, learned a lot and enjoyed the amazing sunrises every morning! Thank you marie louise for everything!

Where do you start with dynamos like Karolina and Tom. My home, my heart, my communities were truly blessed with their visit, their conversations, their organisation, their contributions. I miss them both soooo much. My home felt a little empty after they went onto their next adventure. Karolina and Tom cooked delicious food, we all prepared and delivered an earth-based community workshop series together. They both immersed and enjoyed our daily activities and helped out with our Permaculture Blue Mountains Network meeting. They cleaned the house. Explored the Blue Mountains. Karolina and Tom were the magnet at our university student breakfast, everyone was enthralled and they so beautifully engaged with the students. Catch them if you can. You will be so Grateful and Appreciative of their help and companionship.

Juha was such a joy to have at our home. He was very polite, incredibly hard working and just a lovely guy to have around. He was really passionate about the work he was doing and respectful of our home. We feel very lucky to have had him stay with us :)

Elle (Lemon) stayed with me during April and May and I was so glad to have such a helpful, vibrant and sociable person with such a wide range of skills and life experience. Workawayers following in the footsteps of Lemon to my listing will have a hard act to follow as Lemon is as nice and as helpful as anyone could be. You will be very lucky if Lemon requests to help you at your enterprise...

Giovanni was a pleasure to host. He has a very kind soul and was very giving of his time. Giovanni worked incredibly hard, was polite, friendly and lovely with our children. He was respectful of our home and a joy to have around. We wish him all the best in his future travels :)

Justin helped us with teaching English to our students for a month. He's a very nice guy and a really helpful one. Not only helped with teaching, Justin also helped me with making my computer works faster and bringing me back to my young-self by installing StarCraft game on it. Highly recommend.

Spent a lovely two weeks at Michiel's place. He was a brilliant host sharing his wealth of knowledge with me. I was lucky enough to be staying while 17 baby chicks hatched which was very exciting and his two cats are excellent company (not sure I can say the same about the roosters haha!). Michiel introduced me to some of his friends for a boardgames night and we went for some incredible hikes. He was also always keen to drop me off/pick me up when he could and I was also very happy walking from his as the area is beautiful! Would definitely recommend Michiel as a lovely host!

Fiorella stayed with us for one months and I must say: she filled our house with so much positive energy and humor. She is able to connect with children in a natural and fun way, and it was a real joy to have her around. She played with the children, took them out to the park and just simply enjoyed the time with them. Now, she had to go on, but we will miss her!

En pocas palabras describiendo mi experiencia estando con Yani: instructiva, tranqui, única, hermosa. Yani, una persona que te deja sentir en casa y bienvenida desde el primer momento. Tiene una energía y espíritu indescriptible - marravillosa persona, hermana, amiga. Me quedé 20 días (más días que tenía planeado - y me hubiera gustado quedarme aún más días jaja), lejos de todos los pensamientos y "tareas" que uno/a tiene "afuera" viajando, explorando y disfrutando del lugar y modo de vivir que ella creyó y sigue creando. Es un lugar y entorno de crecer y cambiar! El horario muy flexible, parece que el tiempo (me refiero a la hora - del reloj) no existe. Uno/a "solamente" vive. Seguimos construyendo la casa, procesamos mucha fruta, cocinamos un montón, pasamos y compartimos el tiempo. Agradecida de haber sido parte del proyecto y haber podido compartir un tiempito con Yani y mis compis del dormi :)) Suerte siempre en lo que creas Yani - eres grande! Un abrazote!

Tony gave me a place to stay last minute and it was a fantastic experience. His pets are super lovely and fun to take care of. I was able to work on my thesis a lot while taking care of his place and the pets a bit during the day. He is super nice and interesting and has many stories to tell. I felt very comfortable with him and he made me feel very welcome. I would recommend his place to anyone that wants to decompress and have a relaxing time in Kumamoto while feeling like staying at a friends place for a while.

As my 2nd time volunteering in Morocco, I wanted a different kind of experience and decided that, seeing I would be volunteering during the holy month of Ramadan, to concentrate my volunteering efforts on helping needy animals. Tessa's profile came up and I immediately liked what she presented as a host. And I wasn't disappointed. The volunteers (I got to volunteer with a Finnish woman, 3 people from the Netherlands and a Canadian couple) were all super nice and relaxed people, and we gelled together as we learned the routine to feed the animals - horses, donkeys, sheep, a camel, tortoises, inside cats, stray cats and big dogs! A twice a day routine of feeding and in-between we were free to go into Essaouira or do as we like. Situated in a lovely cared-for douar, there were taxis to use or we even went into town with Tessa. Thank you for that Tessa! A lovely house to stay in, which was also a huge surprise! Thank you Tessa for a wonderful time at your animal santuary, your love for your animals, what you have done for them and will still do. It's an inspiration to me! I will never forget this time!

We had great pleasure hosting İlano from the first day. He is very easy-going, uncomplicated and eager to learn new things. Ilano is a very friendly person with whom it is fun to discuss and talk about everything. She did different jobs in our house, such as weeding, cultivating the garden, and cooking. What a glorious wholesome experience this was! I had the most wonderful time with the fam - loved the people, the space, the food. communication was clear and easy, we had an opportunity to touch base about everything that needed to be done and there was a lot of openness for feedback and contributions. i truly felt like part of the community, part of the family even, and you guys will always have a very special place in my heart. sending big hugs. hope to see y'all again soon.

We miss Milla & Loic already ! It was a pleasure to have them stay with us initially for 3 weeks and then a further 3 months ! Excellent English, really kind and fun with our kids, great company, no problem with any job we asked them to do .. general cleaning, power washing, babysitting .. fixing printers ! We would highly recommend them and wish them the best of luck in the future xxxx

Raoul was a great energy to have on the farm. He was able to talk to anyone and made people feel welcome. He was very helpful and caring looking after Millie when she broke her ankle, even bringing food! Together we planted seeds, did some deep cleaning and he helped in the kitchen. Thank you for all your help, and keep up the good climbing!

If you have the ability to come and do a workaway with Lauren and Tony, then seize it! I've spent the last three weeks with them, their nine alpacas, and cat Mickey. The time there has flown, with lots of laughs and learning to fill the days. The alpacas are not early risers, so you can calmly eat your breakfast, drink coffee, and get ready before you head out to check on them. The barns need to be cleaned daily as well as giving the alpacaniños their brekky. Once the barns were cleaned and prepped, we would do other tasks, such as weeding or ensuring the paddocks were clean. I was fortunate to have mostly sunny, or at most, cloudy days to work. I arrived without much knowledge about alpacas and now know so much about them! It's been great to absorb so much information about their diets, needs, and daily life. I got to know them as puffs of fluff with their winter coats and was present the day they were sheared. Before we had to make sure they didn't overheat on those sunny, warm days. Now they look quite different and have to keep checking on them to ensure they are warm during the cooler nights. Lauren and Tony love their alpacaniños and their attention to their wellbeing is admirable. Each alpaca has their own personality and it was a lot of fun getting to know them and their quirks. They are sweet, intelligent animals that keep themselves clean and unlike other animals, their poop really doesn't stink! I'm going to miss hanging out with them. I also helped Lauren cook, and they were very accommodating to make sure I enjoyed my meals and that I had a vegetarian option available if I desired. We ate a variety of foods and made sure I was full and satisfied. In our spare time, we would sit around and chat, play board games, and did an online pub quiz one night. On days off, we would go on trips to neighboring cities or beaches. I got to see quite a bit of the Lugo area as well as Santiago de Compostela. They are well connected with the local community and I got to meet a number of neighbors during my time there. You definitely get a multi-cultural exchange as I got to deepen my understanding of British and Gallego culture. If you are lucky enough to visit them, i would recommend you bring slippers or house shoes for colder nights. They provide you with all the tools you will need for the jobs, but make sure you bring appropriate clothing for warm days as well as cold and rainy days since Gallego weather changes quickly and dramatically. Lauren and Tony go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and at home, always checking in to make sure you are comfortable with the tasks and taking a break with a cold drink. When it was sunny out and we had a moment in the afternoon, it was lovely to sit in the paddock and admire the landscape with the alpacas. It was such an honor to work with Lauren and Tony on making their dream become a reality. It's hard work for them and I'm happy I was able to help and try to ease the load. We are already planning on meeting again in June and I look forward to the next time I'm on the farm with them, Braun, Goofy Charlie, Monty, Olaf, Queen Tuppence, Maple, Marmalade, Petal, Charlotte, Baby Alpaca, and Mickey!! Rike is a real pleasure to have in the family! She is very well mannered, hard working and helpful. She got along very well with our kids and helped us so much with everything, taking care of our horses and other animals, playing with kids, cooking, cleaning and charity work. Always welcome back!

Chloe and Billy were great easygoing volunteers. As we were in a big drought there wasn’t a lot of work to do but whatever we needed help with they were there. They created innovative dishes in the kitchen, planted seeds and helped us remove a big tree that fell on one of our roofs! They provided great entertainment in the evenings too! We would recommend chloe and billy to all other hosts and we wish you could’ve stayed longer! Best wishes and we home to come and visit you soon :)
