We stayed with Karen and Rick for a little over a week and had an absolutely wonderful time. Karen and Rick are great hosts and have made us feel at home from day 1. They are both really kind and made sure that we were enjoying our stay. Karen showed us stunning hikes and we were even able to use their e-bikes and kayaks. Shawnigan Lake and Victoria are truly beautiful and Rick and Karen suggested perfect spots for our days off. Their big fifth wheel we stayed in is cozy and super comfortable. There’s a fully equipped kitchen, a big TV and a heated mattress which we really enjoyed :) Karen and Rick are great cooks and dinner was always delicious. The work we did was varied and fun and we particularly enjoyed the interesting conversations with them over dinner. We had a great time and will miss you and the dogs! We're hoping to see you again soon!

Vincente is a warm-hearted, great organizer and community builder person. You can expect clear communication, respectful attitude and lot of fun around Vincente. Muchas gracias, Dotty

We stayed with Christy and Sok for 17 days and we felt very much at ease and at home. From the get-go we were told it would be self-directed tasks, and it was easy to find things to do for property maintenance. We did an array of tasks, including pruning plants, deep cleaning the apartments, waterproofing floors, sewing cushion covers, common area tidying and cleaning, picking tics out of the dogs ears. They were very lenient with us due to the immobilising heatwave this April gave us, as well as being the end of the busy season, but we would still do all we could before the heat was too much. Every evening we would hang out together, the kids are so awesome and playful, the dogs are kind to humans (though not always to each other; naughty Rosie!) and our hosts made us feel very much at home. They even organised tours for us to attend- loved the monk blessing! Christy and Sok, we will be back to work for you when we can!

Félix a de nombreuses qualités, il est ponctuel, travailleur, s'intéresse à beaucoup de choses, toujours de bonne humeur; on a passé de bons moments avec lui, son français est presque parfait, comprend rapidement ce qu'on lui demande; malgré une météo capricieuse, il nous a bien rendu service.

I had such a nice time volunteering at Marine's. Marine takes care of her volunteers and organize trips for us and hotel guest. There are activities during the week held at the hotel the such as dance classes or movie night on the roof top. The roof top also has a little bar and hammocks for a nice daytime hang. I shared a room with 2-4 other people, but had plenty of space. The facilities are good. The help wasn't too taxing and you'll have plenty of time to explore Oaxaca city and the surroundings. The place is located in the heart of Oaxaca city in a safe area next to a park where there are heaps of food vendors at nighttime, as well as a small supermarket, laundromat and kiosk near by. I would highly recommend going back. It's the perfect place to stay in Oaxaca if you're looking for a nice and homely place 🥰

I had a wonderful time and I can say that Alberto is a really good host. He always cared for us to feel good and safe. Also the work was interesting and alternating. During my stay I mainly helped to build a clay shelter for the compost toilet and to cut weed for the vegetable garden so it doesn't have to be watered. (: Auf Wiedersehen!

We spent 3 incredible months in the majestic house that is Villa. Jasmin & Nadege are like no other, and their unique, artistic and interesting lives and selves make the house feel like a dreamland. With beautiful ocean view, art, sculptures and antique collections, it's no wonder this house is so cherished by many. We're so thankful to Jasmin, Nadege & family for welcoming us into their lives and for since becoming life-long friends. In terms of our work, during guest season we did a lot of room change-overs which included cleaning, dusting & making beds. Every morning, we prepared breakfast for the guests by setting the table, baking fresh baguettes and picking up croissants from the local boulangerie. We helped complete many tasks, including laundry, general tidying, market visits and renovations. There were also a few exciting events in the house and we loved helping however we could. We were lucky enough to continue our stay as Winter came. The few guests were only close friends of the family, so we spent a lot of time with the lovely children (Rose is the best French teacher we've had!), helped with cleaning and laundry, and cooked meals for the whole family. There is so much more we could say about this wonderful place. A true lifelong memory to become part of such a wonderful French family. If you get the chance to stay, take it. Marita is a wonderful young girl, very kind, friendly, loving, easygoing and hard working. My family and I had the honour of hosted her for two weeks and we had a wonderful time with her. We barely felt that we had a guest in our house because she perfectly fitted in our family. She helped us with photograph and social media marketing and I'm very very satisfied with her work, I never had to tell her what to do she did everything on her own and that is even more impressive. She also booked a four days safari with my agency which I'm also very grateful to her. We had few day trips together which we had a fantastic time, we laughed alot, talked about random staff and I fell like I knew her my entire life, thank you to the workaway platform I gained a new sister and friend 💓 My family son and niece also like her very much, we already miss her very much, we wished she could have stayed longer but she already had plans for the follow week. We wishing her all the best in her next adventure. We love you very much Marita, you are always welcome to our family ❤️❤️

Sabrina was an excellent volunteer. She has a bright and warm personality that connects well with everyone she meets. She was a great addition to our hostel team. She is also a fast learner and hard worker and would make a great member of any work team. I could not recommend her more

We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great relaxing time by the beach. We enjoyed helping the local area and the campsite stay intact and clean, as beautiful parts of the world such as Gjipe should be. During our free time, we went for walks through the canyon and kayaked to the neighbouring beach only accessible by boat. There's also heaps of cats and dogs to hang out with. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend. Thank you to Mariglen for hosting us :)

We stayed with Anil just under a week and had a beautiful experience! Bardia is such a pictureque and peaceful place and it was lovely to stay in such a wonderful lodge. We helped Anil with photography and marketing. The work was very relaxed and we could do it whenever we liked (which Anil encouraged as he wanted us to also enjoy Bardia). In our free time we borrowed bicycles to explore the area, swam in the river that runs through the guest house and, of course, went into the jungle to see tigers! Anil and his family are wonderful, and they have a cook and gardener too who were great! In addition, if you're into bird watching this is the best lodge in the area - Jit, Anil's dad, is a bird specialist and has been touring for 32 years.

Elena helped me out for about three weeks in early spring. At the time it was too early for all spring duties, but we still got a whole bunch done and Elena was helpful, eager and had a great spirit. She is a happy and smiling person with a mild sense of humor that is easy to be around. Elena is very happy getting out in nature, happy around people, and also all content just on her own. I can warmly give Elena my best recommendations.

Erin is a very kind, respectful and independent person. At school she always showed interest in making her classes interesting and fun, bringing up new topics with the students. As a native English speaker, the kids were able to interact with her American accent and strengthen their pronunciation. At home, Erin always followed all the established rules and it was great to have her with us. Erin makes delicious food and she was always willing to teach me her recipes. Thank you Erin for everything and we look forward to having you back!

I stayed one week with Candice and Te Uira and we worked on camper van projects and the fence. Candice is very knowledgeable and has much information and theories that she can share regarding history, culture and law. I spent the whole week learning and loved it!! The food was delicious and nutritious and I now have a favourite pumpkin recipe to take home with me!! Te Uira and I took walks and had lots of kisses and snuggles. Should you spend time here, she loves to have her front legs massaged ☺️. Thank you for a lovely week and teaching me so much!!

I had the most incredible time in this family. I felt directly at home, I could have stayed there for way longer than two weeks. Emily and Sam are extremely nice and have two wonderful children. It was a real pleasure to take care of the kids. We have been to the beach, the river, in town or even hiking in the forest. You will never get bored in this family, but of course you will get free time. In their house you feel like in the middle of nowhere, it's stunning. The walks with the kids around the house are magic. I strongly recommend this English/Kiwi family:)) I already miss them.

Lena wrote to me a while back asking to stay. Im not normally good with making plans too far in advanced but had a vibe about lena so we kept communitcation open and found a way to make it work. Boy was i glad i did. She was a breath of German air for me !!! To have convos on German and have her help around the house was amazing. Thankyou Lena for ticking off soooo many of my tasks on the to do list that i didnt feel so overwhelmed. Our love of food, nature, music, the kids and order ment we just clicked and things were so smooth I wish you all the best on your travels Im sure we will cross paths again 1 day

Santi is very cool and easy going person. he is very skilled with social media, filming and editing. Santi is very helpful and supportive. he is the type of person who would help as long as he can!. He is very flexible which I appreciated a lot due to my busy schedule. It was much pleasure hosting him and he is very recommended
