Beschreibung
I am a retired hotel/restaurant manager and former owner of a tour company. After retirement, I opted to remain in Phan Thiet, Vietnam rather than return to my previous home in San Francisco. I am a gay man who has never been married, but I 'adopted' a Vietnamese family twenty years ago and then built a home on a hectare of land in Phan Thiet, where six of us currently live.
Since retirement in 2016, I have been helping the owner of the resort I had previously managed as his on-site representative. Intially I invited Workaway volunteers to help at our adjacent property, but when foreign tourism had returned to Vietnam after the pandemic, we closed the other resort and so I started inviting workaway volunteers to help at the resort which I had managed before retiring. A large majority of our foreign guests are from Europe, so, we felt that workaway volunteers could help the staff members improve their English, German and French, plus help them to bridge the divide between Vietnamese and foreign cultures. We have between 40 and 50 employees that work in the F&B department and upwards of 250 resort employees in all the departments.
We are looking for volunteers willing to stay a minimum of three months to teach English, or help with guest relations throughout the resort.
Unlike many of the properties that host workawayers, this is a luxury resort, so we require all volunteers to come with dark trousers (preferably black, but any dark trousers will do) and decent shoes (no slippers). We provide company shirts to wear. Also, any visible tattoes on your arms must be covered up while you are working in guest services or in any way representing the resort. This would not apply to English teachers who would not interact with the guests, but would only teach English to our staff. Our uniform shirts are light brown with short sleeves, so if you need to wear a shirt uderneath to cover tattoes on your arms, then try to have one that will go with our uniform.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

They would be staying at a beautiful large four-star garden resort on a wide sandy beach. The resort is within two kilometres of the market in the center of Mui Ne; a very traditional Vietnamese fishing community with over 10,000 residents. They can learn from the local staff and the local people about Vietnamese culture and they can share aspects of their cultures with these people. At the same time, they can participate in many of the same activities that tourists come to Mui Ne, Phan Thiet to experience.
Arbeit
Volunteers to help the guest relations staff to communicate with guests throughout the resort, plus teach English to the staff. Our major market is Germany, so we need native German speakers mostly between October and April. We also have a lot of French and Korean guests, so we need volunteers who speak their languages, as well.

There are a number of local attractions, such as the sand dunes, the fairy stream, the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia atop a nearby mountain, and historical and cultural sites, such as the 1,100 year old Cham Towers. Also, the resort itself offers a number of activities, such as kite surfing, (November to April), kayaking, SUP Boarding, yoga and tai chi, walking tours of Mui Ne and spa services. Plus, we have facilities for volleyball, tennis, badminton, ping pong, children's games and football.

We immediately took all of our new employees to our hearts and really appreciated our time with all of them. It was our first workaway experience and we can only recommend it. We already miss all the people and the wonderful resort.
Thank you for everything
