Description
We are a group of people with one goal; doing good work. We believe in "alleviating physical pain" as an objective net good. So for us, good work is helping alleviate suffering of those who can't help themselves.
Our farm is the home we have built in Himalayan Foothills to accommodate recovering injured stray animals, people who want to do good work, and an organic garden to provide a little bit for for all of us. The farm also supplies our product line which in turn supports our recovering animals. This is a karma yoga center, meaning "The Yoga of Work". Our focus is on the work we do.
We believe that every action for survival has a suffering footprint, especially any consumption. So, we believe in mindful consumption and making our survival purposeful by alleviating suffering.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Volunteers get to live in a small rural Indian village and work closely with locals. They have the opportunity to attend local functions (weddings and birthdays) and practice their Hindi.

We are a stray animal rescue and awareness organization. We are looking for individuals who can help in caring for animals at our stray animal rescue clinic.
We are currently looking for the following roles:
- Veterinarians
- Para-veterinarians
- Individuals with experience helping with animals
If you have the relevant skills and are willing to volunteer for a minimum of 2 weeks, we would like to hear from you. If everything goes well during this period, you will have the option to extend your stay for up to 3 months through our work-exchange program, which includes accommodation and meals.
Our volunteering hours are from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Please allow up to one week for us to reply to messages.
We are friendly and open-minded people. We enjoy having discussions and learning from others. However, if you refuse to respect the work, the space, the people in the hospital, and our rules, you may be asked to leave.
Our Expectations:
We are not a guesthouse. We cannot guarantee access to all our facilities, continuous Wi-Fi, or any other services. We expect you to act like a guest in our house.
We are a karma yoga centre. We don't demand silence, but we do expect you to respect the intention of the place and focus on why we are here. This means that loud, frivolous discussions or "noise for the sake of noise" are not welcome, especially during meal times. We hope you can respect this, and if you cannot, you may want to reconsider your decision to apply.
We live in rural India. This means you won't be able to wear just any clothes you wish. If you feel entitled to wear tank tops, tight clothing, see-through clothing, shorts above the knee, or low-cut tops despite local customs, please refrain from applying.
We have rules. We are responsible for many lives on the farm, and we live here full time. Each rule has a reason, and if you are the type of person who does not like to follow rules, this opportunity might not be the best fit for you.
What You Can Expect from Us:
Respect and open-mindedness.
An opportunity to help animals.
Thoughtful discussions and insights.
Clear instructions and guidance.
If the arrangement isn't working out for you, you are free to leave. If it isn't working out for us, we reserve the right to ask you to leave.Langues parlées

Our village, Dhanotu, is a typical rural Indian village. There are two small shops and a handful of houses surrounded by fields with stunning views of the Himalayan mountains! Life here is simple and quiet. We are close to Dharmshala/Mcleodgunj town.
