Dos semanas pasaron muy rápido con Laurent y Brunella. El lugar es realmente hermoso y tranquilo, junto al pueblo de Zonza: montañas, bosque, ríos y un cielo nocturno muy claro con estrellas. El lugar está cerca de rutas de senderismo. Las tareas eran interesantes y había espacio para la creatividad. Montamos un huerto, reparamos vallas y puertas y mucho más. Nuestro mayor trabajo fue preparar el camping, donde levantamos auténticas yurtas mongolas y rastrillamos el gran patio para dejarlo limpio. Laurent es muy hábil e instructivo con sus numerosas herramientas. Brunella preparó comidas realmente sabrosas, con los ingredientes más variados, normalmente cocina italiana con toques sudamericanos. También tuve el privilegio de conocer a lugareños en diversas tareas y conocer mejor el lugar. Recomendaría este lugar a quienes les guste el aire libre y la tranquilidad de la naturaleza. Puedes aprender y hablar francés, italiano y español con esta encantadora pareja que ha viajado mucho por el mundo. (La mascota) Sol hay que sobornarlo con comida. Grazie mille e ci vediamo!

My feedback comes a little bit late. Hugh was a great host, i stayed with him and Hinako (another workawayer) for a few days. Althought my stay wasn't long, it was a great experience : the place is nice, lost in the countryside. :) Thanks again !

Nil is one of those volunteers who prove that anything is possible if you want something and if you believe in it. He never had experience helping in a place like this, but that didn't stop him from learning to run a dog shelter on his own in a few weeks. I'm certainly not an "easy-going character", but he saw only good things behind my behavior, knew that I only wanted the best for him. We spent a lot of time talking about our countries, customs, he cooked wonderful dishes from Catalonia, he helped me with other daily tasks. I did everything to make him feel at home and he appreciated that very much. I am sure that we will see each other again and I look forward to it in advance. I wish you all the best dear Nil and thank you for everything you have done for this place and for me

I stayed with Claudia and her family for about 2 weeks and I truly have to say it was a combination of the best of both worlds! I loved being able to enjoy the calmth at the country side and then return back to the vibrant city of Berlin. The chores I helped out with varied a lot of the time. It could range from helping with the horses in the morning, weeding, cooking, walking Amor the dog, helping out in the garden... (I also loved making fruit salad for everyone during my free time, Matilda definetly loves it!) On the days that Moritz was home the main priority was to keep him occupied so we mainly played soccer, went on bikerides and coloured. Moritz was such a joy to be around, he truly is an amazing kid. I also loved being surrounded by the other animals (horses, Amor the dog and dreamy the cat.) I would definetly recommend anyone to help out on the farm and enjoy what it has to offer!

Je suis réellement enchantée de la visite de Christina. Ces trois semaines sont passées sans l’ombre d’un problème. L’aide chez nous a été précieuse, aussi bien pour le travail au jardin, pas toujours facile, que pour la création d’une très jolie mosaïque. En plus de cela Christina peut être à la fois très sociable, indépendante et très discrète. Elle sait également travailler seule. J’ai par dessous tout apprécié nos nombreux échanges, très riches grâce à son parcours déjà incroyable à son âge, à son intelligence, son grand coeur et son ouverture d’esprit. J’espère la revoir un jour parmis nous.

We spent a great two weeks with Joana and Ole. They are wonderful, aware, easy-going, young proplr and we enjoyed very much having them on our project. Together we have done a tremendous amount of help, and every day went harmoniously, all the way through to the evenings spent playing cards or Yahtzee (Kniffel..ahem!). They both really love animals and our dog Neo could tell that straight away. We would wholeheartedly recommend Joana and Ole to anyone considering them for a project. They are certainly welcome back any time with us! :)

It was such a pleasure to meet Gabriella. She is polite, punctual and learns quickly. Although she has not had alot of experience with horses she soon got into the routine and was very conscientious. Her quiet manner meant that all the animals got use to her very quickly, even my magpie who is very suspicious of strangers. It was a pleasure to host her and I would be happy to have her return to stay at any time.

What a great human!!!! Anyone that gets the pleasure of hosting Leo is in for a treat. He is a very good listener, very good at communicating. He was very good at doing projects and getting them done, even pushing to get stuff done right. He also has the ability to enjoy the moment. He can stop a task dnjoy life and then come right back to whatever is needed. I have nothing, but thanks for all the things he helped me with around my house and property. He has a very caring heart and a calm damener. What he does with his life, I know, will be successful as he just has that drive in him. Thank you, Leo

Emily is one of the most beautiful humans I have ever go the pleasure of hosting. She was a great communicator, help so much and just a beautiful addition to our family even for the short time she was here felt like I have been friends for lifetimes. She was on point with all projects and had such a beautiful can do attitude. She was very good with the go with the flow and that fits so well with the Gabriola life. So greatful to had the opportunity to host her and would again. Anyone that is looking to host Emily will be in for a beautiful opportunity.

It was a very spontaneous decision to come stay with Eva, Michelangelo, Gülfem and Fairuz, I talked to them and got my tickets only one week before leaving and it turned out to be an amazing experience! Eva is super smart and brilliant, she’s only 6 years old and speaks 4 languages! She is full of energy and always ready to play: we had so much fun drawing, singing and dancing together. Fairuz is the best cat you’ll ever meet :) it’s mostly thanks to his support and cuddles if I was able to finish writing my thesis!! Gülfem and Michelangelo are very educated and cultured people and so much fun to be around! Gülfem made the best çay and sucuklu yumurta for breakfast and Michelangelo prepared delicious dinners and was also able to make me like vegetables I hadn’t eaten in years ahahah. They’re the definition of crazy (in the best way): always down to try new exciting things which is my favorite thing to do while discovering a new country! They also made me try the best hidden gems food-wise from Syrian shawarma to Uyghur cuisine. I stayed almost 2 months and looked after Fairuz for about 2 weeks while they were on vacation. Afterwards I cleaned apartments and welcomed guests only few times. I helped with house chores and mostly spent time with Eva playing and doing homework. This wasn’t my first time in Istanbul but the first time living in this neighborhood which is amazing because it’s perfectly connected to every other area in the city and located between a more local area and the main street with restaurants, coffee shops, clubs and so much more. I was very lucky to experience Istanbul with this family and talking to them enriched me with lots of interesting insights and new points of view and perspectives. Thank you so much ♡

Angel, her name says it all! She is sweet, helpful and has nice humor. She was definitely a complement to us. After her commitment in the garden, she prepared delicious meals for us. Every day with her was cozy, cheerful and even festive. She made something special of everything. Although she enjoyed our way of table decoration, her food made it special. Lots of travel fun, dear Angel! If you are ever in the Netherlands again, let us know 😃

Ilan is a quiet and thoughtful person who was happy to help on any task set for him. He is interested in fluid dynamics and can explain aspects of engineering in lay persons language. He likes lots of different sports and enjoys being in nature. Ilan is an excellent cook and he made some french crepes to his mothers recipe for us to try. He got on well with the other "workawayers" and they actually all went away on a trip to Limerick together on their days off. He was extremely polite and thoughtful of others and he worked hard in the garden and on the other organisational tasks. I would recommend him to any hosts. He is welcome back anytime. Thank you.

I stayed four nights at Caja's house. She's a nice and welcoming person, we had lovely conversations and we worked together for a couple of hours in the garden. It was so nice to share experiences and opinions, Caja is really an open minded person and very kind!

I highly recommend Samantha. She was hard-working, dedicated and flexible - open to any tasks as per the needs of the business. She was also very friendly, tidy and respectful - a pleasure to have here. She cleaned, painted and sanded wood for us amongst other tasks. Everything she did was done to a high standard. Welcome back anytime!

Heli was an excellent volunteer, friendly, personable, adaptable and open to all tasks according to the needs of the business. He also gave us some useful advice on ways of working and organisation. He is extremely well travelled and excellent company too! Highly recommend.

Ich hatte eine super Zeit mit Christiane und Renaud! Sie sind freundlich und das was man als Aufgaben erledigt wird wertgeschätzt. Ich konnte mich immer über etwas mit ihnen unterhalten! Ich wurde willkommen empfangen und man ist sehr gut untergebracht. Die Gegend in der sie wohnen ist schön und falls ihr gerne wandert, dann kann ich es stark empfehlen. Möglicherweise habt ihr dann auch einen Esel und die beiden Hunde dabei, die super lieb sind :)

I had a wonderful stay at Daniel's. You can see from the moment you enter his house that he has an artististic soul. he is a great musician too. I helped him in small tasks around his beautiful garden and also wherever help was needed. We cooked delicious meals, exchanged language practices, went for walks and overall had incredible time. Highly recommend. Wish you well in life and safe travels.

Harry stayed 3 weeks at my place. He helped me with the garden and cleaning. We spent 6 hours per day. In the evenings we visit the city center or watch football. Harry is a nice guy. He followed house rules. I hope he will return Azerbaijan again.
