Description
Hi! I'm looking for any experience and people who will help me open my mind and explore, whilst also being useful.
This is my third year in a gap before uni. Last year I volunteered and lived in a care home for young adults with additional support needs.
I volunteered for years with Beaver Scouts when I was an Explorer Scout, helping the little ones with weekly activities.
I LOVE cooking, baking, and trying new dishes, I'm vegan at home but up for trying anything while traveling. (Because food is one of the greatest parts of being alive!)
I do enjoy touristy things but for longer term travelling I want to experience more than the surface of a county and culture and do something useful along the way.
I grew up on a small holding so I know a little about growing food and rearing animals. (we also have lots of pets)
I'm interested in sewing and sustainability: one project I have going is making reusable bags out of old materials e.g. curtains from charity shops.
I can knit and crochet, and I'm more than happy to help anyone who's interested to speak English. (I'm Scottish and don't have a strong regional accent so I'm easy to understand.) I'm doing Spanish and German on duolingo, any help would be wonderful.
I'm hard working, kind, and always try my best.Centres d’intérêt

I can speak a bit of German, Spanish and BSL. I'm always looking to improve these.
I'm a native English speaker and I'm Scottish with no strong regional accent so I'm easy to understand and more that happy to help you with English if you would like.
I can knit, crocket and sew and I quite like fixing things to extend their life.
I've done a lot of volunteering: at Scouts I volunteered with the Beavers, I worked in a small museum, in a community cafe and last year I volunteered for a year in Camphill in Aberdeen. This involved living with the residents and helping them with day to day tasks, including personal care, lots of cooking and cleaning too. It's supported living for young adults with addition support needs and it's an incredible place, where I learned a lot including how to help someone through seizures. I have also completed first aid courses through Scouts and Camphill.
I was in Scouting for about 7 years which culminated in a fundraised trip to Japan.
I grew up in the countryside on a small holding so I'm familiar with growing plants, gardening and working with animals.Âge

The permanent staff are all nice, easy going, and genuinely interesting people.
They really create a sense of community. For example when we would do something together, someone would make food, someone brought drinks, someone would get a speaker for music. We had a clothes… read more
I really appreciate the ethos of the place and I think what they're doing is amazing. The animals are lovley to work with and so are the owners.
However, when I stayed quite a few things were different from the profile.
It was expected to work roughly 9 hours a day every day, from… read more
