Description

Hi! My name is Max and I am 24 years old. I am currently taking a gap year after completing my first two years of University. Before I return to my studies I would love to do some travelling and really broaden my mind to what is out there.

I would love to help and meet new people abroad!

I am flexible doing all kinds of work but as an aspiring teacher I would love to gain more experience working with children. However, I am ready to dive out of my comfort zone and indulge in new challenges.

Some of my favourite things to do are reading, writing, music and photography. And of course travelling. I have done a few solo trips around Europe and America. I am looking to create more experiences like this with the bonus of helping others along the way.

What motivates me the most is being able to help others in exchange for learning and having new experiences. There is so much we can learn of each other and it is our duty as human beings to help each other and more importantly learn as much as we can from our experiences with one another.

I am studying English literature at university with some modules also on the English language. I know a little French but admittedly not so much. I hope from Work away that I learn bits of a new language.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My skills mainly revolve around tutoring and helping others. I have volunteered teaching English in countries such as France, Italy and Poland. I have also been an online tutor too. Furthermore I can help with English practice if this is something you are interested in.

I am also very sporty, with tennis being my favourite. However, in my spare time because of the poor weather in England I spend a lot of time indoors playing chess. When the weather is good (which is rare) I spend time gardening with my grandad.

I am looking to gain new skills and experience through this exchange. As well as demonstrate my skills if required.

I am very interested in a language exchange too.

I have a TEFL certificate, which I obtained last year. And I have experience working with children from previous volunteering in Italy. I have also worked in hostels around Europe in exchange for accommodation.

Though I might not have a ton of experience to offer, what I do have is a willingness to try new things. I want to learn new ideas and have fun adventures! Cultural exchange is what this gap year is all about for me.
