What is the Workaway Video Competition?

Hey travellers and hosts,

Are you a wanderluster at heart who loves to capture beautiful moments and places on video? Do you have a passion for storytelling and sharing your unique Workaway experiences with others? Then we've got a perfect opportunity for you!

We're excited to introduce you to our upcoming Workaway Video Competition, where we invite all Workaway members to share their best videos with us. Whether you've captured breathtaking sceneries, fascinating cultures, amazing experiences shared with people you met along the way, or anything in between when you are on your Workaway trip, we want to see it all!

📹 Create, Share & Win some travel funds

We know a lot of our members here on Workaway have been to some incredible places and created lots of inspiring videos, vlogs, reels and snippets of your travels… Be it epic, life changing, or just tiny meaningful moments you enjoyed. If you'd love to share your travel experiences through your video content, AND even win some money to either help extend your travels or fund your project, read on to find out how you can join our Workaway Video Competition!

🏆 What you need to know about the Workaway Video Competition

• The competition is open to any Workawayer or host who has a passion for videography.
• You can submit up to six travel or hosting videos, each of which must be no longer than 1 minute.
• Each of your videos could contain either just one single clip or compiled clips of your travels.
• Your videos should showcase your Workaway experiences in a creative and engaging way, with a focus on storytelling.
• Some good examples of footages could include positive interactions with people you’ve met on the road, Workawayers trying new things, sharing cultures, skills or knowledge at host projects, discovering off-the-beaten-path places or any other unique experiences found through our platform, and anything else that will get us ready to pack our bags and GO for it 🏃!
• The competition will run from 1-30 June, and winners will be informed directly via email and announced in due course.
• A cash prize of $500 will be awarded for the top video, with $250 for second place, $150 for third place, and $50 each for two independent runners-up.

  
  

To enter the competition:

1. Simply post your videos/ reels on your own Instagram, TikTok or YouTube account. Make sure to set your social media account to public and not to include copyrighted material such as music and sound clips! 

2. Tag your video with #workawayreels

3.  Fill out our entry form with the link of your videos and other required details by the end of the aforementioned submission period. Don’t forget to read through the Terms and Conditions before you submit the form.
